A draw in the end, does nothing for either of them really.

Now need Ipswich to not fuck up on Saturday

How did we get four points from these two at their home venues?

All championship games live on Sky Saturday lunch time
  • Always thought they would fail to beat Southampton and West Brom. It's why I was so conflicted when we played them. Had we nicked a point there we would have won Millwall a promotion.  Things turned out ok in the end.

Such a shame we couldn’t have drawn against Ipswich and secured our safety earlier and  having the added bonus of giving automatic promotion control to our friendly neighbours .
ah well , they’ll fluke it some other way I’m sure

No way that Ipswich team are dropping points to QPR. Still, it’s nice for a club of our size, little old Smallwall, to be going in to the final game of the season with an (very) outside chance of making top 2. Crazy league.

Now if only we’d beaten Leicester on Friday night 😩

This Ipswich team are more dislikeable than Millwall, but of course they have to win their last game. I'll be sad. I'll feel sorry for Millwall. But, the greater good

84 points would have only got 4th last season (and some distance from the top 3 at that)

It's been a weird season at both ends of the table. (or maybe it was last year that was weird!)

Apparently Ipswich's last three games hosting QPR have ended in two draws, and a defeat for Ipswich
Millwall's last three games hosting Oxford, have ended in a victory for Oxford... Thank f**k we're safe seeing that stat!!

Can't see Ipswich not winning on Saturday. QPR's defence is terrible and they have the worst record in the division apart from (obviously) Sheffield Wednesday.

Funniest scenario is that Ipswich lose and Millwall are winning and concede to draw in injury time. I'd love a repeat of that Blackburn game they had

I would prefer the meltdown to wait until the play-off semi-final second leg - perhaps 'Boro or Disney scoring an injury time winner at the toolbox that was at least a yard offside.

If Soton finish 5th as most likely,  or indeed 4th, then finishing 3rd to avoid them in the semis is a real advantage. Definitely the team you'd rather play in a one off game.

They're a point behind Ipswich, not 3.  Millwall can realistically only go up if they win and Ipswich draw or lose.

    Edit
Guessing they originally had it as 'Ipswich lose and we only draw'

    Ipswich 0 QPR 1(Kone 34)
    Millwall 1 (Cooper 67) Oxford 1(Lankshear 90 + 10)
    Wrexham 0 Middlesbrough 3 (Whittaker 32, 46, 84)

Boro get 2nd, Wrexham finish 7th on GD behind Derby.

It will be interesting to see if QPR & Oxford can get caught up in the importance of their games for the home teams.  I reckon it’s more likely in the QPR game as the tension will be greatest there.  Oxford are also potentially subdued off the back of relegation.

With Ipswich still needing to win to be certain, anything can happen.  If I were a Millwall fan I’d still have a little bit of hope and optimism that they could do it.  Football has an inclination to provide theatre and drama.  One more twist in the tale is not unthinkable

If Dipswich are still needing a goal heading into the last few minutes expect a penalty to go their way.

They have players that appear to have problems with gravity, especially when the gravitational field is affected by the close proximity of an opponent. Referees feel sorry for their affliction and award them free kicks as a kind of medicine.

yeah was my mistake which is why I corrected it the next post, but Ipswich have a GD advantage of +18

I was impressed with Oxford on Saturday.  The players must have been devastated by our win, but still went out there straight afterwards and put out a decent performance.

On that basis, they won't be pushovers against Millwall.
