A soon to be 33 year old from Luton isn't exactly inspiring. But if he's just a back up then it's not terrible on a 2 year deal. Decent numbers this season (12 goals, 5 assists) in all comps.
Who would he be back up to in the team?

Just a quickie on Coventry. We won't get much of a fee as a hefty percentage goes to the Hammers.
Same as Alex Mitchell, Millwall have a  20% sell on clause
West Ham's is supposedly 50% which is significantly more
    150% more.
Presumably Millwall's sell-on is 20% of any profit on what we paid (£200,000 ?), whereas West Ham's is a straight 50%, as Coventry was on a free.

No idea, we haven't seen who else we're signing yet. We don't even know for sure if he is even signing.

Amazing how player's can be praised like Conor Coventry was during last season and the first half of this season but then suddenly being spoken of in the past tense and going from Mr Consistency to losing his place.
No wonder so many footballers are insecure because of the highs and lows of their careers.

Billy Mitchell, Zach’s older brother, also out of contract and a very good championship midfielder…but does play for you know who.
Would bite you hand off for Billy Mitchell...but no chance that millwall won't resign him.

I suppose for Coventry specifically his consistency was one of his best features though - he was rarely a match winning player on his own but you know exactly what you are getting. He's got quite a limited role but he did it very well.
As soon as he started losing consistency he becomes someone who has a limited role that he wasn't even doing that well and Coady coming in to basically "out Coventry" him was fantastic for the team but a blow to Coventry himself.

If we could Billy Mitchell on a free that would be excellent business.  Not an elite defensive mid but still quite good and very consistent.  It would allow the transfer spend to be on more attack minded midfielders which are going to be pretty pricy

I’d love us to be looking to sign some overseas talent. Better value no doubt when it works out but the scouting has to be absolutely bang on. The Championship is unrelentingly tough and the standard is high compared to many overseas leagues. Looking good in Serbia or Denmark doesn’t really mean much. Not saying it’s not the way to go but the scouting has to be better than on Apter and Olaofe for example.

Disappointing to watch Dobbo have a fairly dominant performance against the promoted Champions. I wonder what dickhead let him leave without an offer of a new contract.

My list of who I think we may target / who I want us to target.

BRK we should be going all in for! Not to worried about his injury. Was a shoulder issue and he opted to have surgery which kept him out for second half of the season.

    • Josh Neufville - Bradford fee - RWB
    • James Bree - Free agent - RWB
    • Brian De Keersmacker - Oxford Fee - CM
    • Will Lankshear - Spurs Loan - ST (maybe)
    • Lorent Tolaj - Plymouth Fee - ST
    • Ethan Pye - Stockport Fee - LCB
    • Ben Wilmot - Stoke free agent - RCB

I think De Keersmacker is going to be very in demand from championship clubs, and probably out of our financial range because of that.

What we need to do is look to Europe and find the next De Keersmacker that can be brought in for a couple of million and be a good championship player

Derby and Millwall supposedly looking at Tolaj too. We’re picking apart your list!

This is exactly what we need to do. Go and find someone from Europe with that similar profile, I would could easily see us spending a similar fee (£3.5m ISH) to what Oxford spent on De Keersmaker.

Didn’t you see him go diving in and got skilled up by the Coventry player, leaving Dobson on his arse?

it was a mistake to let him go and he would get regular game time in our squad but please can we stop dressing him up as the best midfielder ever to be born

Back to this old chestnut I know…….I wonder if Joe Gomes will be leaving Liverpool at last?
We get a tidy sum if he does, which will of course go a long way to increasing our transfer kitty….here’s hoping.🤞

Plymouth want Mitchell so maybe that may help. It's going to be the offer that he prefers if he leaves.

    Huge caveat as it's FLW

    🚨 EXCLUSIVE 🚨

FLW understands that Charlton Athletic and Leyton Orient are among the EFL clubs that are keen on Lewes winger Devonte West, who has landed a trial at Hull City 🔴⚪️

Oh no, Orient set to become this window's Preston North End.

I heard that he is unlikely to get another contract if they are promoted, but will if they stay down.  No idea how reliable that was though.

Genuinely not sure where all the background to all this is coming from.

I thought Conor Cov was carrying a knock and having been playing week in week out got a much needed breather and recovery when Coady signed? Nothing has changed in Cov’s game or his consistency from what I have seen. He has either been directed to sweep in front of the back three with short passing or hit the wing or big man - mainly the big man which can look good, bad or indifferent depending how effective the player out top is playing.

Cov’s stats on passing are the highest performing in our squad this season at close to 80% -

    1. Conor Coventry · 78.9% ; 2. Macaulay Gillesphey · 72.6% ; 3. Lloyd Jones · 75.7% ; 4. Amari'i Bell · 75.5% ; 5. Kayne Ramsay · 75.5%.

Interestingly all of our highest passing players are at the back which helps explain why so few goals were scored as more often than not you would hope a b2b midfielder or CAM would hold the top spot.

Anyway, do not think he is going anywhere and will have benefitted from his first season back in the Championship since his spell at Rotherham.

Because it was insulting. He was also told he was only an average L1 player, er, glad the joker who made that statement is long gone.
