I don't agree with abuse of players and some of the nasty stuff posted, but banning all comments on social media does seem very draconian. If clubs and players want a social media presence, which is very much the modern way, it has to be interactive.
These aren't village cricketers playing for fun, these are professionals who earn an income from the watching public, whether live or on tv/streams. If any of them had a 500k IPL contract dangled in front of them, they'd leap at the chance, despite the pressure being 1000 times higher. Or indeed an England central contract.0 -
I think his meds need changing to something a tad stronger.fenaddick said:

Dawkins offers up the easiest c&b you'll ever see which Haydon duly gobbles up. 21/10

Dawkins caught and bowled off a leading edge for 6 (21)

I see Tredwell is one of the umpires. Hopefully he'll do us a few favours today

He'll have to "outperform" the other umpire, Tom Lungley, who is Derbyshire through and through.killerandflash said:I see Tredwell is one of the umpires. Hopefully he'll do us a few favours today

Kent could just get off Twitter and advise players to do the same, that would sort a lot of the problems1

Comments off on a county livestream might not actually be a bad thing. Seems to be mainly filled with people gambling0

What a glorious day for some top class county cricket. (I know, I should have gone to The Oval for that). I got here a bit late after my satnav sent me down the A2 with bad holdups on the M2, so I missed Dawkins wicket, but Crawley and Northeast are giving Kent a reasonable start, and I must say some of Derbys bowling looks a bit wayward.
Crawley has just cracked another one of his trademark cover drives for four!
Derbyshire choosing to bowl looks a bit of an odd decision, but given Kent’s recent form, maybe understandable. CoyK.

Simon Cook has confirmed that turning off the comment facility on social media is a temporary thing and will probably be back for the Blast0

Ekansh tries to play one too square and is LBW for 20 (46). Benjamin comes in ahead of Evison at 7.

We've reached 200 so in @Briston_Addick's special league we have a batting point, in the real world we have another 50 to go3
