Good afternoon fellow Addicks…

So, here we are, last game of the season, and what a roller coaster of a ride this season has been, lots of ups and downs, and a fair few twists and turns but entertaining all the way, and today we finish with a long trip to South Wales and an encounter at The Swansea.com Stadium where Swansea City await…going back a couple of weeks, quite a few lifers were viewing this match with more than a modicum of trepidation, and yes, it could have so easily been a last game shootout, but now after the Hull match we can just relax and enjoy the day…👌

TEAM NEWS…Collins Sichenje and Greg Docherty both picked injuries in win over Hull City, while Amari' Bell, Kayne Ramsay and Matty Godden will all be assessed ahead of this weekend's fixture, but in reality the team news is a minor distraction, and I can see changes across the park today with just enough to win the game if we can, the hosts are expected to be without Sam Parker, Ethan Galbraith, Ishé Samuels-Smith and Zeidane Inoussa .

HEAD-TO-HEAD…We've met on 45 occasions, winning 16, the Swans 17 and the remaining 12 encounters ending in draws, we drew 1-1 at The Valley with Charlie Kelman on target.

Will Finnie will be the man in the middle this weekend.

We will be sporting the charcoal third kit this weekend.

TEAM…Nathan Jones makes four changes to his side for the season finale…

Reece Burke, Conor Coventry, Luke Chambers and Lyndon Dykes return to the starting line-up. Collins Sichenje and Greg Docherty miss out after picking up injuries last weekend, while Sonny Carey and Charlie Kelman move to the substitutes bench. There is also a place on the bench for the returning Kayne Ramsay.

Burke joins Lloyd Jones and Macaulay Gillesphey in a back three in front of Thomas Kaminski.

Harry Clarke and Chambers are likely to operate as wing-backs with Conor Coady and Coventry in midfield, joined by Harvey Knibbs and last weekend’s match-winner Jayden Fevrier behind Dykes.

Ramsay, Carey and Kelman are joined on the bench by Will Mannion, Keenan Gough, Joe Rankin-Costello, Luke Berry, Ibrahim Fullah and Miles Leaburn.

Charlton: Kaminski; Burke, Jones (c), Gillesphey; Clarke, Coady, Coventry, Chambers; Knibbs, Fevrier; Dykes

Subs: Mannion, Ramsay, Gough, Rankin-Costello, Carey, Berry, Fullah, Leaburn, Kelman

Great time to try some new faces play some football and enjoy the fact we’re in this league next year.

Fullah/Gough/Knibbs/Fevrier/Kelman all deserve game time. Would be nice to have a few minutes from Macca too for what I imagine will be his final game.

Coady likewise - he’s done his job very professionally since he came in and given far more than I thought he’d be capable of.

If Ipswich can get the job done too that’ll be the icing on the cake.

Hop those that are there enjoy the day

Didnt think that you were with us today Fen?
Been a pleasure supporting Charlton along with you all on these Match Threads this season though. As someone who doesn't go to games anymore, its nice being able to connect with others and feel like I'm not watching the games on my own... Hope you all have a great summer!!

Strong team put out, no real surprises... Shame that Kelman gets dropped for Dykes after a good showing last Saturday
But given we're away from the Valley this weekend, I can see why he's done it - No involvement for Campbell

Weird team. Why no Kelman or Fullah ?

    They're both on the bench
Also Fen looks like the team sheet has been retweeted with Coady now the Captain for this afternoon, rather than Jones

Seems unlikely but maybe giving the loan/short term players one last performance to impress?

Kelman not fully fit? BBC said doubtful after coming off last week.

Back to Dykes up front. I can see why the more physical option up front might be to counter Swansea, but a shame for Kelman.

No TC. I assume his injury issue has ruled him out. Or Ronnie Moore has chosen the side.

    Great game last week Charlie.

As a reward you get to watch Lyndon Dykes barely run about and fall over every few minutes whilst failing to control the ball once or register a shot on target.

I know it means nothing but that lineup is dull.

Berry still making the bench then.

A few changes, injury forced though, clearly Jones wants this to be  a win...

I like the thought of Fevrier playing further forward, seems a bit of a similar line up to last weekend, with him and Knibbs supporting Dykes - Could be a nice opportunity for Jayden to have one last audition, as you'd also want him as an option like what we saw with him and Campbell last season, rather than just as a substitute Wing-Back

I do hope he is carrying a knock as suggested .  If it’s just Jones being Jones , it makes for a drab end to the season .

Not a moan, but it's funny that we aren't overly keen on loans (unless essential) to give our own players a chance, and now we've got the perfect opportunity to do just that, but are playing players on loan/short term contracts 🙃.

In more positive news, QPR appear to have fielded a team without a recognised striker.

    Lovely.

Disappointed we haven’t started Leaburn and Fullah. Playing players that are unlikely to be here next season in a dead rubber is pointless.

Typical uninspiring Jones team. Why not have a bit of flair and some youth in the team, after all we survived the drop.

Is it about respect for the loanees Dykes, Clarke, Fevrier, Coady and Chambers for their service this season?

No Fullah is the really disappointing one for me. What a chance to get 90 minutes under his belt ahead of next season.

    Strange.

Think he's giving them a sentimental send off game given the result doesn't really matter now.  Same for Coady as captain over Jones.

Not what I've have done but doesn't really matter!

That team is so lacking creativity and pace. Why Donkey Dykes instead of Kelman? Are we reverting to hoof ball again. Some of Jones selections leave me really puzzled. Last week we played more football with Kelman in the side.

Boring side, no flair and pace other than Fevs, no youngsters getting a run out in a complete dead rubber, going to be an anticlimactic end to the season I feel

He made a couple of silly mistakes in his last appearance, so might not yet deserve a starting slot, but let’s hope that he and Kelman can get some good minutes off the bench.
