With Carter doing the role at present don’t think it’s a process we’re rushing. Also would be much harder to find a CEO who is only willing to do the business side considering Jones and Rodwell are in charge of the football side
I'm not sure that's true. So many clubs now - certainly all of the clubs in the Premier League - have sporting directors/ technical directors/ directors of football who run the football side. I don't think anyone looking for a CEO gig at Championship level or above would expect to be involved in that aspect of the club.
A lot of them may not have complete power but are definitely still involved with footballing operations/decisions day to day running etc  in one way or another. Can give you examples from prem with Berrada at United or a Risdale at Preston for a championship side and that’s just the top of my head

we’re talking about complete isolation because as we saw with Murphy if there’s even a hint of taking away decisions from the trinity of Jones, Rodwell and Warrick it’s not happening. You arguably need some like a Methven who obviously has zero clue about footballing decisions but has very good knowledge with finances in football but someone who is definitely better with commercialisation
This isn’t why it fell through
“Personal and professional considerations on Dane’s part” I’m not sure what else that could have meant

Well there was the fact the Dutch team he bought was sinking like a stone due to the poor leadership of him and his mates. Plus I believe a lot of the paperwork needed for his appointment hadn’t gone through when he was announced and it became clear to all parties that it wasn’t going to. The photos of him weren’t even taken at The Valley. The club just massively rushed it and jumped the gun

We don't know what it meant. It could well have meant, "There's no chance Dane will pass the owners' and directors' test after the debacle at SBV Vitesse so we've let him walk away with some dignity."

It's getting on for a year ago that we announced he wouldn't be taking the role, and I don't think he's popped up anywhere since. Seems like the whole thing was a bit of a mess. I think to say it must've been down to Rodwell and Jones running the football side is a bit of a leap.

The rushing it and jumping the gun approach worked alright for Starmer…oh, hang on…

Maybe something to look out for?

(I didn’t know what thread to put this so apologies if the wrong one)

Bromley don't have an academy though.  In fact they have said they are not even going to try to get a C rates academy following promotion.  Their youth sides are managed by the dads of the players. A weird thing to praise a fella in his leaving post if that is his biggest achievement!
    That is factually incorrect!!
Their set up is different from a traditional academy but it is not run by the parents at all.
The academy is a shortened post 16 - U21’s programme.
The U18’s play in the EFL Youth Alliance League (against the likes of Orient, Gillingham, Stevenage etc) and the F.A. Youth Cup.
The U21’s competed in the U21 Premier League Cup and got decent wins against Sunderland & Norwich.
The U17’s, U18’s & U21’s are coached by full time professional coaches and supported by a full time analysts, S&C, physio etc.
This season, one of the coaches was our very own Scott Wagstaff! Jamel Wojtczak is one of the best young coaches in the game.
It is an incredibly successful set up with multiple players now plying their trade in the Football League, Kellen Fisher - Norwich, Oli Tanner - Cardiff & many more.

Pre 16 is split across three avenues.
JPL: U12 - U16 (coached by a mixture of full time academy staff and parents). This is a direct feeder to the Post 16 programme.
Kent Youth League & Sunday League: Both affiliated to the club but is it’s own thing, teams are managed by parents as happens up and down the country.
