He was a fine character, but his on-field performances have gotten some Pratleyan revisionism. It isn't like we turned into some sort of indefatigable footballing juggernaut, we just got a bit more organised. We need people with this character, yes, but it'd be nice if they could run as well

“Got a bit more organised” into getting the points to keep us up. Pretty important role imo, so let’s give credit where it’s due. Though I am not expecting us to sign him up for next season.

From what Jones said after the game it sounds less likely that he will be staying
I get the sentiment of giving the captaincy to Coady but I dunno, it seems a little disrespectful to a player that has given everything, played through injury and won player of the season by a mile. Without Jones we'd likely be down.
It was a nothing game - Jones was captain for the game that secured survival, he's won pretty much every club award this season (deservedly) and will hopefully be the captain again next season. Recognition for Coady is really just a token thing, I doubt Jones (either of them) have given it a second thought.
That's fine if Jones (Lloyd) isn't bothered but some said he seemed a bit off at the end yesterday. Probably nothing in it but just think I'd rather not take the risk when he's such an important player for us.
I saw him after the Hull game and he seemed to rush off then as well for short period. If you look at him after the games has finished, he looks like he is struggling with the long standing injury he has. It might be something innocent like taking a painkiller injection.

We got 6 points from our final 9 games. He played a role in our safety but the idea we've finished strong is a total nonsense and we're going to need a lot of changes this summer

How many of those nine did Coady play in? I believe we only lost twice with him starting, and one of those was yesterday?

We finished poorly because we lost nearly every game that Coventry started in. The games Coady started in we had top half form

We were definitely better when Coady played but people really need to stop with the win stats when players play vs dont play.

Macca when playing over half a game has a better win % than Lloyd Jones this season but you would have to literally have 2 brain cells to think Macca is a better player

It’s a little bit more relevant though when 2 players are being swapped in and out for each other in the same period of the season. Coventry only wins one game and Coady only loses 2, and we are defensively much better whenever Coady starts a game

win percentage is such a useless stat because end of the day 21 other players are influencing the outcome not a singular individual.

Coady>Coventry but that should be viewed via the eye test opposed to a win %.

And it was 0-0 yesterday when he went off.

And based on both subjective and objective metrics we clearly had better outcomes with Coady than Coventry.

This from Cawley’s free round up has sent me for a spin again. I’ve settled on the idea he wants to play here next season but isn’t sure if he can make it happen

I'm reading it as he's not ruling it out completely but not particularly set on it either

I think he would like too but rightly thinking of his family
Sounds like a decent bloke to me and a Iyr  contract could be good for All parties

Reckon he goes to a different champ side next season, Wolves, West Brom, Derby, Stoke, Sheffield United all prime candidates given his love of the Midlands

Hire a house in Chislehurst for him and he can move the family down for a year.

    Problem solved!

Nathan is just playing mind games with the media...and the fans, he would like Coady back next year sure as eggs are eggs...whether he gets him is another matter entirely...🤷‍♂️

He's loved at Wolves , depending on where his family are based currently that could make a lot of sense

Sounds like he’s open to the move but his final decision will probably depend on his family and of course whetherJones wants him and whether an agreement could be reached with Wrexham either way lot of variables needed in place

I'd like see Coady get another year here as a better back up option than some.

I don't think we can underestimate his contribution, one defeat in 10 is pretty solid. Of course he's not going to play 46 games, but if it's him or Gillesphey coming on to steady the ship in tense games then I'm all in.
