EFL Playoffs 25/26

I agree that Millwall should start favourites v Hull over two legs but head to head this season they are identical. Away wins for both teams and home losses both at 1 - 3
Its the playoffs and nothing is as it seems.1 -
Fairly sure that Millwall will make the playoff final and a fair chance they will win as they've been very strong this season. An obvious plus for us if that happens is a potential extra 6 points we won't be giving away!ShootersHillGuru said:I agree that Millwall should start favourites v Hull over two legs but head to head this season they are identical. I suppose they have to account for all eventualities but in truth it was never going to happen. There was probably one at boro as well and there was even less chance of them doing it.Covered End said:

Went to Uni at Southampton so have a soft spot for them. Fairly indifferent about the rest - with the exception of Chesterfield. I've never liked them since the whole Ched Evans saga.2

Championship:
I'd really like Boro to go up. A very good friend of mine is an ardent Boro fan, plus I have great admiration for Steve Gibson - the last of dying breed in terms of local owners. In the battle of the felines, I think that Millwall will have too much for Hull.Almost impossible to call but I think that Southampton will prevail, beating Millwall in the Final.
League 1:
I’d like to see Bradford go up - they’re a well supported club who languished for many years in League 2. It would also be a new ground for me. Stockport has some fine pubs and is only 10 minutes from Manchester for an overnight. Stevenage is relatively local but, for me, is a far less attractive proposition as an away day. Against that, although Stevenage’s on-field achievements are admirable, the size and resources of the club would make them hot favourites for one of the relegation slots.
Bolton are a strange club but well-supported and ended up with a higher average attendance than us and probably half the teams in the Championship. I’d be happier to see them in League 1 next year, although I really have no clue who is likely to make it through the play-offs.
League 2:
A really interesting group of clubs. On purely sentimental grounds, I’d like to see Grimsby do it - any club that gave us Clive Mendonca, Matt Tees and Charlie Wright is ok by me. If they don’t make it, I’d prefer Notts County or Chesterfield to go up, rather than Salford. I’ve got nothing against Karl Robinson but their ownership of Beckham, Neville, US-based businessman and AIG leaves me a bit cold. There was only 3 points between these 4 teams in the league, so it’s anyone’s guess as to who’s going to win the play-offs. My gut feeling is that Notts County may do it after failing in the play-offs last season.2 -
There is also a National League play-off final and it features Rochdale against Boreham Wood. I hope some of us haven’t forgotten that Dale were also infested with Southall, and even though he never got his hands on them in the end, he caused them a lot of ownership issues which caused them to fall out of the EFL. Of all the clubs whose fanbases we connected with in the fight against the wrong’uns Dale’s were easily the best. ( Unlike Bolton, fuck me what a twat from their Trust I wasted an hour with, he spent most of it telling me why Dale’s fans and owners deserved all they got.I guess quite a few of you have seen the clips of the epic ending to their end of season clash with York, it must have been gutting to be on the wrong end of that after finishing with 107 points, so they did really well to bounce back and beat Scunthorpe yesterday to make it to the Wembley final.Up the Dale!14

I tend to contemplate this stuff in terms of distance we need to travel for away games.
So Tottenham or West Ham relegated is OK (Burnley away is a drag), I would prefer Stevenage to get promoted because Bolton, Bradford or Stockport would be a grim up north schlepp, and of course by that measure Boro to win the Championship playoffs.
We kind of have Wolves for Coventry, Lincoln for Leicester, Cardiff sort of for Oxford, and the bonus would be Stevenage for Ipswich, leaving a big gain with either West Ham or Tottenham for Sheffield Wednesdays.
Burnley is the big disappointment.2 -
Needless to say Millwall fans are delighted they get to see their favourite ref again:

I've a soft spot for Grimsby as I now live nearbye and have a lot of Mariners fans as mates .. but L2 will be possibly the toughest of the three
Saints sea-saw back to the Prem
Bolton to pip Stockport and Bradford from L1
Another remarkable rise of small London(ish) clubs. Hornchurh are in the p/os to get into the Nat proper from Nat South
Borehamwood are in the final to get into L2
Follows on from Bromley, Sutton, years ago Dagenham doing great things. Could also include Crawley in the 'London hinterland'.
Shows perhaps the sufeit of young English talent either unnoticed or released by Prem clubs like Arsenel and Chelsea

Gavin Ward for a PO Semi is absolutely ridiculous. Guaranteed at least 1 very very controversial decision now.DyerConsequences said:Needless to say Millwall fans are delighted they get to see their favourite ref again:

Should, and I stress should, Millwall get promoted to the Premier League at least I would have the pleasure of hopefully seeing them get regularly togged and making a swift return to the Championship. Fingers crossed though!2

Oh you naive innocent fool... Thats what would happen IF Charlton find themselves back in the Premier League, and we'd go down with the record for fewest points - If Millwall go up, they'll join Palarse in solidifying themselves as top flight regulars, just to continue the kick in the balls that we're going to have to endure throughout eternity.cherryorchard said:Should, and I stress should, Millwall get promoted to the Premier League at least I would have the pleasure of hopefully seeing them get regularly togged and making a swift return to the Championship. Stevenage would be the easiest and cheapest away trip. For that reason, I’d also prefer it if Middlesbrough get promoted via the playoffs.Crispywood said:Doesn’t matter from our viewpoint who gets promoted from Stockport, Bolton, Stevenage or Bradford all would go straight back down.
Do you live in a Caravan 🤔

Exactly. In this day and age there’s no chance of staying there unless you spend a couple of hundred million. Just go for the FA Cup, try to beat Palarse, attack every team in a carefree manner, have fun, and take the money to go back up again. On the second promotion you might stand a chance and definitely on the third. It’s sad that it’s come to this but that’s how it is. Laughing at Millwall achieve Step 1 is naive.guinnessaddick said:

Suprised to see Hull and Millwall playing so soon after the first leg. Monday night??? I don’t think any of the games in previous years were such a quick turnaround- I could be wrong but I’ve always thought at least a gap of three days0

At least it's the same for both sides...cabbles said:Suprised to see Hull and Millwall playing so soon after the first leg. Monday night??? I don’t think any of the games in previous years were such a quick turnaround- I could be wrong but I’ve always thought at least a gap of three days1 -
