I'd forgotten he was still one of oursAberystwythAddick said:Does this mean Taylor will be like a new signing for someone2 -
I think Kelman with a proper pre-season (he’s going out to America to do a pre-pre season) will be our main man next season. If he can get physically stronger and battle centre backs like he did against Hull then Jones will trust him to play more. 10+ goals next season from him I thinkCrispywood said:
Could argue Will TC, Leaburn, Kelman all be better with the bedding in season and some better midfielders in behind, they may be completely different players next seasoncarly burn said:Can only assume from that list that they'll seriously be listening to offers for Leaburn.
Otherwise we could well end up with the same attacking line up we ended the season with, which doesn't sit too well12 -
I don’t see Dykes coming back. The deal / role we have offered him is most likely a squad player offerfenaddick said:
Might be reading too much into it but I think offering Dykes a deal suggests Adebayo isn’t a goerMarcusH26 said:

Can’t do nothing else there only two players out of contract ..would say he told others who staying and who going on loan and who they want to sell ….. but it’s down to the player if they want to leave ..raytreacy said:Jones has been so ruthless.5 -
Wouldn’t surprise me if Leaburn been told to go out on loan next season , have a injury free season we bring in Dykes as a back up strikerthenewbie said:
I suppose with Dykes it will be a case of making him an offer (probably lower than his previous wage) and seeing if something can be worked out but if not so be it. We'll have an amount to offer and if he takes it great, if not we move on.AberystwythAddick said:
Different players. They are probably trying to reduce goddens wages to reflect that he won’t play nearly as much.fenaddick said:Interesting we haven't triggered the option in Godden's deal and we're in discussions with Dykes. Is it an either/or scenario?
the dykes one is interesting as although he adds something from what Jones was saying I would’ve thought we’d put our resources to better use4 -
The Dorking manager/owner Marc White said he had not seen a better finisher than Pat Casey and him getting injured cost Dorking Wanderers being promoted, coz no one else replaced his goal threatBostonaddick said:I wonder if they will announce anything related to the u21 squad. If I remember correctly, I think they were silent about youth releases last year. Not sure of contract lengths but the likes of Casey, Hobden, bower etc might result in some difficult decisions2 -

Which is great but we’re talking about a 6th tier side here. He’s going to get released this summer considering he’s now 20, at that point to make it worth gambling on as a championship side you would at least need him to be in L2/increadible season in NLCalloutyejam85 said:

Am I reading this wrong. Why is / would Kelman being going to The USA to do a pre season ? He’s going to do one with us under the supervision of Jones and his team. I get that players are given fitness plans for the summer but that’s very different from what you’ve suggested. Where’s this come from pleaseNabySarr said:

Kelman said it himself, he meant in the off season before the proper pre season starts. It’s much more common than you would think, especially the higher up the game you getShootersHillGuru said:

Yes, it clearly says pre-pre season.ShootersHillGuru said:

enjoying their time off (obviously adhering to fitness and diet plans) Kelman will do additional training in the US on top of that. Whatever peoples thoughts on Kelman are you can’t argue he’s got top professionalism13 -
Goes "home" to the US over the summer, does some extra training, takes in a couple of WC games no doubt, sounds like a good way to spend the offseason12
-
The MLS season is in full swing...... I guess it'll pause during the World Cup...... maybe Charlie will be able to do a bit of pre-pre season with some MLS buddies while he's there...?sam3110 said:Goes "home" to the US over the summer, does some extra training, takes in a couple of WC games no doubt, sounds like a good way to spend the offseason0 -
Feels strange really - we're not some big "you can't cross the divide" rivally like Celtic/Rangers, or even the only two clubs in one city whre you might feel like you'll get constant abuse in your home town for leaving to join the other team. I don't like Millwall, but then I don’t like Palace, and loads of players have played for us and Palace.BigDiddy said:Millwall to Charlton transfers don’t happen that often.I’d prefer we buy from other clubs as petrol and spring water do not mix…..- Alex Mitchell — 2024

Plus the fact we were a league or two above them for years, and then they've been a league above us for a good few years recently means you'd expect more of the Alex Mitchell type transfers - not good enough for the league one team are in, maybe good enough for the lower league the other is in. Plus you don't need the upheaval of moving house, moving away from family etc.
Surprised there haven't been more.0 -
Charlie Savage expected to leave Reading this summer with several Championship teams showing interest. We were interested in him last summer … not had such a good season wonder if he still on our list ?0

Year left to run so Reading probably have to do a deal now. Also being linked with Wrexham, but then half the Welsh national team are linked with them if they look like moving anywhere.MarcusH26 said:

Could see the fit at Wrexham too. Matty James won't go on forever and good competition for Dobbo and Rathbone.North Lower Neil said:

Jamie Stuart was a Charlton academy player with England U21 caps, who we sacked for drug offences in 1997. After his suspension he joined Millwall, but went on to have a long non league career.BigDiddy said:Millwall to Charlton transfers don’t happen that often.I’d prefer we buy from other clubs as petrol and spring water do not mix…..- Alex Mitchell — 2024

He was apparently a Spanner anyway.1 -
Cawley pours a bit of cold water on the Dundee links in his pod but does say he wouldn’t be surprised if we were looking in Scotland5

Watching the Stevenage v Stockport semi
final .. what a awful game played by two poor sides both will come back down if either make it .. but don’t rule out all league one players there still one or two that would not look out of place in the championship .. one of them is centre back at Stockport Pye .. even in a poor game he looked head and shoulders above anyone else ..0 -
I know it’s not a transfer story but ..
