Absolute tosser.
"If that's the rules now, then let people know...."
They have, John, everywhere, for years.2 -
The Football Association will appeal against the decision to ban former Crawley Town manager John Yems for 18 months for making racist comments.

I’m quite frankly stunned at the lack of comment from any football body about this!0 -
The people in the tribunal are fucking morons. I'd love to see them have to take a press conference and be grilled on their logic.
It's like me shooting someone in the head and then saying "I am not a murderer, I categorically deny that I am a murderer, I thought I was being funny" and the tribunal saying "awww, he said he was absolutely certain he wasn't doing any harm, let's not be too harsh on the guy!"0 -
Ex-Crawley manager John Yems has had his suspension from football for making racist comments to players extended until 2026 following a successful appeal by the Football Association.

John Yems called a half-Indian player a curry-muncher. Player then suffered a career ending injury
Not that this excuses John Yems fast and loose approach to different backgrounds and ethnicities, I was unable to make the link between the two incidents1 -

I couldn’t fathom a link between the two either.Carter said:John Yems called a half-Indian player a curry-muncher. Player then suffered a career ending injury

Yems is clearly stuck in the 80's with his thought processes
But I am glad I am not the only one struggling to see the link between a racist comment and a career ending injury leading to a lawsuit seeking £12m

I suspect any link will or won’t be demonstrated in a court of law.
Yems’ thought processes are alive and well amongst a terrifying number of people in the 2026’s.
Isn’t there supposed to be a celebration of racists with the Unite the Kingdom march on the streets of London this coming Saturday?

Discrimination impacts on mental health and associated loss of earnings? Surely people are not struggling with that concept in 2026?
On the case in question here, an employment tribunal hearing took place on Monday 11th May.
There's no need to rely on the Daily Mail's Twitter feed for a summary of the facts, but clearly that is where many go to, to have their opinion shaped for them these days!
The full hearing and press summary is available at
https://www.judiciary.uk/judgments/mcnulty-v-qpr-and-others/
The bbc also reported but they seem to have drawn from the press summary only

I have skimmed read the case notes, and the case against qpr failed. The player won aspects of his case against Yems and Crawley FC. His contract was with qpr and case for loss of earnings c.£12m probably fails with that. However there's a remedy hearing now to be scheduled, for the remedies against Yems and Crawley FC to be determined. Good luck to him for a just remedy.

Amrit Bansal-Mcnulty who is half Indian and half Irish is seeking around 12 million from John Yems and Crawley Town for severe psychiatric harm.
There are still thousands of John Yems around today in the UK but It's difficult because if an Indian person called a White Uk person a 'Fish and chips muncher' I/we would probably find that funny but say as a joke that I/we would sue them. If I had been Indian, African or from Caribbean descent it would be a mixed reaction depending on the boundaries set and knowing the person behind the words. I have always spoken my mind and have always been outspoken against bigotry.
It is difficult to quantify sensitivity and as a white person who came back to England as a brown boy(I have olive skin and can get a tan in my Garden on 1 sunny day)after 4 years in Africa I was called some names but I played on it and said I was born abroad but after 2 months of a dull English winter I was white skinned again and took more stick over being an imposter 🤷🏻♂️ and not being this young African chief or Indian prince and just became one of the crowd in a 98% white school; I was only 8 so give me some slack !
I thought it was exotic being an Indian boy and an adult said to my Mother on an ocean liner coming back to the UK "who are the parents to the Indian boy"
"I'm" said mum "and he's not Indian" who came from a South Wales family and looked more like Katherine Zeta Jones than Shirley Bassey !
It's a minefield and I'm just trying to explain the reaction of a temporary brown boy back in the day.
I remember feeling sick when at Spurs about 20 years ago some Charlton fans thought it was funny singing the 'Gas chamber song'. The same guys are still probably going and are around 50 now.
I would imagine this post will be put in room 101.

I’ve been called a curry muncher on more than one occasion but it was nothing to do with the colour of my skin5

From what I’ve read on here, I’ve always assumed you munched on a lot more than curries @DaveMehmet 🤷🏻♂️DaveMehmet said:I’ve been called a curry muncher on more than one occasion but it was nothing to do with the colour of my skin1
