This Iorpenda lad is some player. Not surprised now why everyone on this forum wants to sign him.

Apologies if I missed him being mentioned elsewhere or earlier in the year, but are we assuming that our interest in Shinnosuke Fukuda is dead and unlikely to be resurrected?
The Japanese are masters of subterfuge and deception. I fully expecting to see him haring up and down our right flank when we kick off the season, thus bewidering our opponents.
Shortly before limping off injured no doubt 😉😄

L2 football can make anyone seem good. Kanu was 3rd for non pen goals but it’s not like we’re all saying he should be our guaranteed main man next season

Oh I agree with you entirely. Although out of everyone on the pitch he looks a class above.

On a separate note, we are blessed for the future with the talent in our u18’s squad. Every single player looks immense but in particular Ezenwata, Elliot and Burnham have impressed me. I can definitely see why Ezenwata has played for England and has a lot of clubs chasing him.
  • Be gutted if we lose some of these lads to the bigger clubs

Really liked the look of Rayan Richman as well tonight. Some very good players coming through, hopefully we can keep the majority of them.

We lost Enzenwata’s brother to Chelsea a few years ago!

Its more than he looked good in L2.
He is 6'3", quick with good feet, can tackle and a has a decent pass.  He has played all across midfield. Young and will only get better and add value. My no 1 target.

Just a suggestion, not a rumour but can see us signing someone like Will Smallbone from Saints.

Yes I certainly wouldn't have signed any of the relegated Luton rejects that served us so well, nor Apter, a shortarse winger for a 3-5-2, nor a 3 in 20 striker who we are talks with for a longer contract. Or players with injury history.

I tipped Aasgaard months before he went for £3.5m (worth a punt as he is a bench-warmer)
and Iorpenda will go for similar if we dont get in early.

McNamara is an interesting one, 2 years ago Millwall were fighting to keep hold of him but seems like he’s fell well out of favour. Seems like the biggest link ATM is Bromley which makes sense as he’s local but I wonder if he might be looked at as competition at right back. Also pretty sure he’s not actually “proper ‘wall” as he comes from a Fulham family.

Knibbs was nearly all of those things in league 1. League 2 to championship is a huge jump and I doubt we are even looking at league 2

Max Lowe is in discussions with Sheffield Wednesday about renewing. Think he’d be a good option for us as LCB/LWB cover on a free. Good player with lots of experience at this level

A reunion with Neil Harris at Cambridge potentially?

It's posts like this that remind me that this forum genuinely isn't capable of dealing with Charlton signing an Asian footballer and that is incredibly depressing to think about

Know your trying to be sarcastic but berry helped get us out of L1, Bell was one of our best players this season and it’s obvious to see we wanted Hylton as a coach.

So you’re really complaining about Potts/Campbell who cost nothing and we very easily got rid of 6 months later. Burke who we took a gamble on and didn’t work out but you can see when he does play is decent.

And Kaminski wasn’t even a Jones player so the Luton link is just coincidental.

Fevrier has decided to go on holiday with loan mates rather than watch his contracted team play at Wembley

Would like us to go back in for David Fofana. Struggled a little at Strasbourg - but you’d imagine someone we kept tabs on

Side tracking I know, but Has Jones been offered a new contract?
