Gutted.
Scummy fans. Shithouse club

Yeah, but why is that allowed in Scottish football? Is there just not that much demand for away following?mart77 said:

Classless club celtic, scummy fans

I think it’s something that involves largely both clubs agreement, policing factors etc. both clubs could have sold a lot more away tickets but both must have thought that they’d prefer ‘advantage’ of less away fans being at the game.AberystwythAddick said:

What's exciting watching arsenal gub Burnley 4 or 5 nil. The premier league is almost a closed shop. Coventry and Ipswich will go straight back down with pots of Premier league money making it more difficult for other championship clubs to complete.DamoNorthStand said:

Arsenal V Burnley...
Both Burnley and Wolves will come straight back up. Exciting times in England.
Since inception there have been 7 premier league winners. Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Blackburn Rovers, Leicester City and Liverpool. In the same time it has been boooooring in Scotland
It is what it is. I was just cheering the underdog for a win that would have finally breathed life into a tinpot league.
I honestly think Celtic and Rangers would have benefited from it as well as maybe they would finally get a bit more recognition for winning in the future.
Just looked at the Premier league table the top 15 are almost and usually safe, the fact spurs are in it is rare as like Leicester winning the PL and look where they are now.
Next year it will be arsenal or city again. Very exciting.
I think the vitriol re the Scottish PL is cos Celtic won it. If rangers were in the same position the comments wouldn't be as bad.
Up the celts few more Stella's to enjoy tonight.8 -
Back to the big yawn that is Scots football next season ? .. or can Hearts and possibly Motherwell make it a proper contest ?0

Just a reminder that you follow Scottish football so avidly that the other night on this thread after the final whistle someone had to explain the final day permutations to you because you'd got it totally wrong as you'd looked at an 'old' league table.Chippycafc said:Celtic we're last on top before today in Sept and with 7 games to go were 8 points behind.
Wonder where the Martin o Neil piss takers are now. Anyone know where I can get an enamel badge to celebrate.

Arsenal will also be the sixth different winner in 14 years. No other major league comes close to that competitiveness.
In that same time period:
Italy - 4 winners
Spain - 3 winners
France - 3 winners
Holland - 3 winners
Portugal - 3 winners
Germany - 2 winners
Scotland - 2 winners in 40 years.7 -

Cracking stato... And our 2 cup finals this year.. City arsenal and Chelsea great variety. And I am sure without bothering Google in the last few years you may add a utd or Liverpool to that list. They make the majority of the finals.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

I will say, it shows that English people will take interest in Scottish football if we have a decent title race. The same calibre of people who were virologists during Covid and have been Middle East experts during the Iran war are now bang into the SPL which is brilliant. Look forward to their input in 40 years time.2

You will never see another Leicester in our life time.
FA Cup: 6 different winners in the last 7 years. 2 of those were Leicester and Palace.
League cup: 4 different winners in the last 4 years. 1 of them was Newcastle.
So yes, quite a lot of variety.
Not even sure what point you're trying to make here.7 -
Another Celtic fan, Aidan, said the result had topped the birth of his two children.
"I've never experienced anything like this in my life," he said.
Other than the 14 other times in the last 15 years you’ve won the league.
Poor fucking kids

Shite league, would’ve just been nice to see someone else win it
bit clearly the powers that be couldn’t let that happen 🤷♂️1 -
Winning the title two minutes from the end of the season when for a long part of the season the Green cnuts weren’t in it, is why it’s crazy for the fans , surely that doesn’t need explaining unlike the other 700 times they won it at a canter when it was boring this one was exciting for them . Last minute winners are more exciting than 5-0 victories…
and congrats to the tax dodging cnuts for earning the spurs award for finishing 3rd in a two horse race

We will take some interest in it if someone other than Rangers or Celtic has a chance of winning it. Of course the Celtic fans enjoyed it. Must win, last game of the season at home. Plus it means that Celtic are ahead of Rangers in terms of league titles so it means a little more.

Well, at least I know he’s above the groundKiwiValley said:Desperate for Hearts to win,
I have vaguely followed them since 1997... before i supported Charlton (scandalous).
I used to live in Edinburgh and it was the closest club to where i lived and worked in a hotel. There was a real character who worked in the hotel kitchen as a 'dish pig'.
He was rough as guts and not much going for him. He was always asking me ... "Ur ye bein a wide-o cunt wi me?" (I was).
He as a lovely guy and i distinctly remember him saying in 1997 with a desperately resigned voice.
"Herts ur nae gonnae win anyhin in mah lifetime!"
If they win, I sincerely hope he is alive to see it.0 -
Surely the point is not why are Celtic’s at Home and Hearts away. It’s why are Hearts not playing a home fixture against whoever? It didn’t necessarily have to be Celtic, there would’ve have been other teams they had left to play at homeTelMc32 said:AberystwythAddick said:

It is boring, but English Premier League football is no better at the moment either. Same old teams. Money dictates.0
-
I don't disagree that money talks, and that money brings success and that success brings exposure, and exposure brings more plastic fans and more plastic fans brings more money and that money brings success... ad nauseum... However, as others have said, 7 teams have won the EPL since it's inception, during which time 2 have won the SPL. If Arsenal win it will be three different teams in three years. Three teams I care no more about than I do Celtic or Rangers, but it's three teams, nonetheless. The Red Robin said:It is boring, but English Premier League football is no better at the moment either. Anyway, throwing my own bit of bias in, which has nothing to do with what church my grandma went to, Askou should be manager of the season. Getting Motherwell into Europe on a budget of dozens of pounds, playing decent football and beating both the OF teams at least once is some achievement.
Sadly a lot of the squad will go on to better paid jobs, and it wouldn't surprise me if Askou ends up at Celtic.2
