Good to see good old fashioned sectarianism is alive and well on these pages.2

Hilarious that English football is catching boring strays on a Scottish football thread!0

Am I right in saying that the referee hadn't blown the final whistle in either of Celtic's last 2 games before there were pitch invasions which effectively ended the games?1

There’s an explanation of the SPFL system here. Essentially, Hearts and Rangers had two home & three away fixtures to fit in. Celtic had three home & two away. TV and Police Scotland have a say. For example, derbies are not allowed on the final day, whether in Glasgow, Edinburgh or Dundee. The last two games have to be either home/away or away/home…not two homes or two aways.AberystwythAddick said:
Surely the point is not why are Celtic’s at Home and Hearts away. It’s why are Hearts not playing a home fixture against whoever? It didn’t necessarily have to be Celtic, there would’ve have been other teams they had left to play at homeTelMc32 said:AberystwythAddick said:
Not overly bothered by Scottish Football, but this absolutely stinks.Scottish football is rottenAlready been explained on here. Hearts had already played Celtic twice at home and once at Celtic Park. All a bit of a faff, but a consequence of the split system. Falkirk, for instance, over-performed and ended up with 20 home games instead of 19 because they ended in the top 6 instead of the predicted bottom half.3 -
Correct, they also assaulted the Hearts players. It'll be forgotten about in a few days.redman said:Am I right in saying that the referee hadn't blown the final whistle in either of Celtic's last 2 games before there were pitch invasions which effectively ended the games?1 -
I have just seen a clip. Horrible little cnuts goading Hearts players. Easily identified. Look forward to them all being banned for life by Celtic.Friend Or Defoe said:

Loads. It's being investigated by police Scotland and Hearts are reported their players were assaulted. Interesting how you know nothing about it yet are able to find various angles of a dubious penalty decision.guinnessaddick said:

The only thing I’ve seen, is a fan who shouldn’t be on the pitch running up to shankland, the player defending himself by pushing the fan. Not sure it that counts as a hearts player being assaulted.Friend Or Defoe said:

The SPFL has confirmed Celtic's title-clinching victory over Hearts on Saturday was not brought to a premature conclusion
Definitely was, though, wasn't it? Given they scored at 97.26 when there was a minimum of 8 minutes injury time. But that will be that.

If Hearts took legal action they would surely win, but as they were unlikely in the extreme to score twice in a minute they have likely decided to leave the matter with good grace.
This season will be remembered forever as the year that Hearts were beaten to the title by a number of the "governing" bodies/officials.10 -
Arsenal are about to win the Premier league for the first time in 22 years. The Red Robin said:It is boring, but English Premier League football is no better at the moment either. Same old teams. Money dictates.
And yes of course money dictates, can you show me a league in world football where the richest and biggest clubs are not near the top?
But even so, the PL is far better than most top leagues for competitiveness. The pre-season title favourites are currently sat in 5th.3 -

Cracking stato... And our 2 cup finals this year.. City arsenal and Chelsea great variety. And I am sure without bothering Google in the last few years you may add a utd or Liverpool to that list. They make the majority of the finals.Chris_from_Sidcup said:
The Premier league is about to have it's third different winner in three years.Chippycafc said:
What's exciting watching arsenal gub Burnley 4 or 5 nil. The premier league is almost a closed shop. Coventry and Ipswich will go straight back down with pots of Premier league money making it more difficult for other championship clubs to complete.DamoNorthStand said:
It is exciting. Arsenal haven’t won it for years.Chippycafc said:
Tune in tomorrow night then mate to watch a cracking end to end Premier classic.DaveMehmet said:Not knocking anyone on here but I’ve never understood how English fans get so worked up over Scottish football. To be fair, I’ve watched a few games this season which have been exciting but really couldn’t give a shit who does/doesn’t win.
Arsenal V Burnley...
Both Burnley and Wolves will come straight back up. Exciting times in England.
Since inception there have been 7 premier league winners. Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Blackburn Rovers, Leicester City and Liverpool. In the same time it has been boooooring in Scotland
It is what it is. I was just cheering the underdog for a win that would have finally breathed life into a tinpot league.
I honestly think Celtic and Rangers would have benefited from it as well as maybe they would finally get a bit more recognition for winning in the future.
Just looked at the Premier league table the top 15 are almost and usually safe, the fact spurs are in it is rare as like Leicester winning the PL and look where they are now.
Next year it will be arsenal or city again. Very exciting.
I think the vitriol re the Scottish PL is cos Celtic won it. If rangers were in the same position the comments wouldn't be as bad.
Up the celts few more Stella's to enjoy tonight.
Arsenal will also be the sixth different winner in 14 years. No other major league comes close to that competitiveness.
In that same time period:
Italy - 4 winners
Spain - 3 winners
France - 3 winners
Holland - 3 winners
Portugal - 3 winners
Germany - 2 winners
Scotland - 2 winners in 40 years.
You will never see another Leicester in our life time.
FA Cup: 6 different winners in the last 7 years. 2 of those were Leicester and Palace.
League cup: 4 different winners in the last 4 years. 1 of them was Newcastle.
So yes, quite a lot of variety.
Not even sure what point you're trying to make here.7 -

Yes, but it’s the same 5, which is better than Spain, Italy & Germany.Chippycafc said:

110 pages on here and this is the best post ever. At least we both know which part of the divide we are on and have a bit of banter in between. And both don't pretend we're here for the beer and deny which side we support in order to poke ridiculous comments on the other half.se9addick said:I will say, it shows that English people will take interest in Scottish football if we have a decent title race. The same calibre of people who were virologists during Covid and have been Middle East experts during the Iran war are now bang into the SPL which is brilliant. Look forward to their input in 40 years time.
You can add fuel shortages and climate change too as lots of experts on there but you've covered it nicely. Well done.2 -
I am a follower of Motherwell. I dislike Celtic and Rangers equally. I have no bias towards any church, so there's none of that malarky involved either.4
