Surely Southampton will now be allowed to appeal though, how does this get resolved before Saturday? - Still doesnt change that Hull are f**ked as they've been training in prep to face the wrong team now... Feel like Hull should have just been given promotion, and the Final cancelled

Harsher than I expected tbh, was an opportunity for the EFL to show some teeth towards a popular target and they've taken it

Shocked by the punishment. Thought nothing would happen.
  • Sensible verdict. Pleasantly surprised to see some backbone in the decision.

Subject to appeal, so it's not over yet.

Wonder how those fans who went to the PO semi final in fancy dress are feeling?

Wow..im amazed. At the speed for one thing. The punishment of course is suitably harsh

Makes a change for them to make the right decision. Got to feel sorry for the genuine Saints fans though

Good - the conduct of the club including press officer, manager and players following the incident has been awful.

I’m astonished. The hardest decision to make but they have done so.

A new leaf for the authorities?

As some speculated earlier that’s a real deterrent to any future breaches.

Fantastic news. Don't mind who goes up between Hull and Boro but surely Boro can't let promotion slip again

Never thought they would throw them out, I honestly thought they would bottle it.

A precedent has been set now.

Oh my god I can’t believe they’ve shown some backbone.

Well done EFL. Cheating should always be punished.

Fantastic, totally the right decision. They admitted to doing it multiple times too.

Admitted to multiple breaches and to it being more than one club.

Be nice to see Hull win - got rid of Smallwall after all.
