I know it's early in the process, but everyone recalling past transfer horrors is a real buzz kill...

We have had our fair share of duds.

Anyway, enjoy the weekend fellow sufferers.

Nobody seems to have mentioned Yohann Thuram-Ulien yet.

With the passing of a few years could Hernandez be up there? I still find myself shaking my head at that handball, what else did he do?

Our worst player has to be Ross Worner. The highest level he ever played was when he accidentally played 8 L1 games for us and beyond that he managed to cling on in L2 for a couple of years before going back to conference football. Totally, horrifically out of his depth. Even Dean Sinclair managed a few L1 loans
Not counting youth players, the worst player we've signed to ever play for us falls into two categories. You've got a good candidate for 'worst overall career'. But worst player to ever play for us based on how good they were when they played for us? Easy. Joe Ledley
Joe Ledley definitely had one of the worst 45 minutes of all time but I think Worner also is a candidate with his performances as well as his career. He was in goal for that League Cup match against Shrewsbury where we were 3-0 up after 32 minutes and lost 4-3. Shrewsbury were in L2 at the time. He made 8 L1 appearances for us, conceded 11 goals and kept 1 clean sheet and we won only 1 of the games he played in. He might have been Satan.

Tronstad is another who I definitely wouldn’t mind signing. He did really well at Blackburn and all the fans were gutted to lose him.

Tronstad would get done in sprints against Gilly.
Holsgrove is by far the better player for the Coventry, Coady roll. We've been linked before with players we were never going to pay the going rate for, let's see what happens this season.

Strange one that. That link is saying his has no intention of leaving the Championship but he did an interview a couple of days ago with he Lancashire Telegraph saying his wife was struggling with homesickness, they had a young daughter and that's why he's returning to Norway. He also had a full ACL reconstruction a couple of months ago so not sure this one is a goer

The link doesn't have any quotes to be fair, literally just "we understand", "sources suggest" nonsense AKA pulled directly out of thin air. Especially if he actually HAS specifically said the exact opposite.

A player who has been out for a number of months with an ACL, glad to see we're keeping the tradition of going for players who with a bit of luck might be available for half the games

Could we rescue Joe Aribo's career and pick him up on a free transfer 😀

Joe being a religious lad like our Nathan surely won't let a 80% drop in wages stop him coming back to the club that put him in the shop window at 18🙄

I believe this may be a rhetorical question 🤷🏿‍♂️
    No thanks

Tronsted would fit the profile of midfielder I could see us looking to compete with Doc but the injury history and homesickness would be a red flag

Not sure where else to post, mental the difference.
Bottom of the table?  Jones Out.

We paid 3 million for Charlie Kelman after this time so is this table relevant for the 25/26 season as Wrexham, Birmingham and Charlton were League 1 and Leicester, Saints and Ipswich were Premier so of course there will be a massive disparity when looking at a table showing the differences between team from 24/25. Blimey O'Reilly get a grip people.

How much you spend has never equated to where you will finish in any division but obviously it increases your odds on a higher finish as long as you use that money wisely.
I remember thinking Harry Winks would be decent for Leicester but...
Leicester is such a weird anomaly as how can so many decent players with Premier experience play so poorly as a team in the Championship. Issues off the pitch are in this equation and Foxes fans in a stupor with their quicksand demise.

Coventry and Millwall both over achieved big time in 25/26 according to CL posters who believe you should finish in a position commensurate with your outlay !

Coventry and Millwall did overachieve but it was lucky they didn't have the mentality and belief that is entrenched in so many weary Charlton fans who go from OTT  when winning at Ipswich to we are Shit when losing at the Den or at home to Portsmouth etc.

Getting the right bespoke players to fit is more important than just paying top dollar and the player doesn't fancy the challenge; back to Leicester.

For what it’s worth, my worst Charlton player is Akpo Sodje. The ball just never stuck to him.

He put in one heck of a shift in the famous 2-2 against Swindon...

Loved one of the matches when both Sodjes were playing and we sung we've got two Sodjes, he's got two yellow cards! Other than that I only really remember Sam, not so much Akpo
