TV presenter Judith Chalmers, who hosted ITV's long-running travel show Wish You Were Here...?, has died at the age of 90.

Her family said: "After living an extraordinary life that involved over 60 years in broadcasting and countless adventures all over the globe, Judy sadly passed away last night, surrounded by the family she loved so much after suffering with Alzheimer's for some years."

Chalmers also presented programmes including Come Dancing, ITV's Good Afternoon, and BBC radio programmes including Woman's Hour and her own Radio 2 show.

I wonder how many people have been told over the last 50 years along the lines of  ‘ark at Judith Chalmers here’ after talking about another holiday?

Literally thought that when I saw the news. Used to call my old boss that as he was always off somewhere.

She was at the 98 Play Off Final…well, she was certainly at the drinks event the club held before and after the game at the TV studios along Wembley Way at the time. I believe as a guest of Richard Murray’s Celador production company.

And yep @AFKABartram, I regularly catch up with a couple of my former clients, now friends. One of whom was always going off on holidays, to the extent that she was just called Judith (her name is Sue).

    Rest in Peace Ms Chalmers.

I, too, remember seeing her at the Valley for a match in the Premier League days.

Lovely lady. My wife was at Hesketh Park, Dartford, when she was young and Judith was as charming as her surname suggests by all accounts, only too happy to sign autographs.

It only seems like yesterday that a work colleague (passed away this year), her daughters and myself used to take leave and go and watch paul o'grady show being recorded. Saw a few of those, One of them was with a guy out of the bill who had a pony tail who now had dementia, one member of ant and dec who had a broken arm (ant?) and Judith Chalmers on another show. She was there with her son who was a presenter in his own right. His name escapes me? Mark?

I was literally speaking to a friend from the industry yesterday who is whizzing around the world doing very well with his new business…. And said “eat your heart out Judith Chalmers” and then read this news.

Like others said she meant travel to a whole generation

Blimey, I didn't realise her last TV travel show was way back in 2003 (Google).  Time and tide wait for no man.

    RIP Judith.
