Anyone listened to Cawley’s latest podcast yet? Any rumours?
No rumours. Said someone not at the club thought Holsgrove might be out of our price range but that was a guess
It came directly from the player that his agent is talking to Charlton, but there are also others interested. Lets see what happens

    Leicester's released and retained announcement.

Among those is captain Ricardo Pereira, who made 220 appearances for us across eight seasons since joining from Porto in his native Portugal in the summer of 2018.
Ricardo was part of the squads that won the 2021 Emirates FA Cup and the FA Community Shield later that same year. He also found the net 15 times from right-back – none more memorable than the late UEFA Conference League Quarter-Final winner away at PSV Eindhoven in 2022, as well as lifting the 2023/24 Sky Bet Championship title.

Alongside Ricardo, strikers Patson Daka and Jordan Ayew, defender Jamaal Lascelles and Academy graduate Wanya Marçal will also leave us at the end of the season following the expiration of their contracts.
Goalkeeper Asmir Begović’s contract is also due to expire this summer, but he remains in discussions with us about the possibility of extending his stay at King Power Stadium.
In addition to those players, the loan spells of Jordan James, Aaron Ramsey, Joe Aribo, Dujuan Richards and Divine Mukasa will all end and see the players return to their parent clubs.
We have also exercised options to extend the contracts of five players from our Academy - midfielders Henry Cartwright, 21, Tommy Neale, 20 and Ryan Donnelly, 19, and defenders Thomas Wilson-Brown, 21, and Reiss Khela, 19.
Contract offers have also been made to goalkeepers Stevie Bausor and Harry French, both 20, defenders Mirsad Ali, 20 and Bobby Amartey, 19, midfielders Silko Thomas and Logan Briggs, both 21 and forward Josh King, 20.
Meanwhile we can also confirm that goalkeeper Jake Donohue, 20, defender Jahmari Lindsay, 21, midfielders Alfie Fisken, 20, Toby Onanaye, 19 and Olaoluwa Omobolaji, 18 and striker Chris Popov, 21, will be leaving the Football Club.
We would like to thank all players who are leaving us for their contributions during their time on Filbert Way and wish them the very best for the future.
They’re no doubt gearing up for a season of bringing through a lot of youth players. They’re in a right mess.

Yeah I fully expect a Leicester squad of youngsters. No idea who they'll even have in charge manager wise as Rowett was only under contract until the end of the season

I’d have a look at Osei-tutu for our RWB role. Has been very impressive so far.

Charlie Kirk might be available to finish off his unfinished contract? Could then be the worst signing we ever signed twice!
That title will always remain with Macaulay Bonne

I could have sworn that I saw Rich Cawley post on X that Joe Aribo has been released by Southampton. But it doesn’t appear on his account

Cawley got mixed up by Aribo going back to his parent club from Leicester, easy mistake to make

Said before I’d love Jordan James. But he’ll probably end up at a wolves, Burnley or a replacement for Hackney at boro

Another entry from Callum’s summer wishlist: Tomas Bobcek

Top scorer in the Polish league couldn’t save his team from being relegated despite them scoring as many goals as the team who eventually won the league

As soon as "top scorer" and "Polish" appear in close succession  it gives me very uncomfortable flashbacks to Parzyszek, which is probably very unfair of me (especially as Parzyszek has been pretty decent everywhere else) but there we go.

Definitely some gems in the Polish league. I was surprised to see Sam Greenwood is there.

    Someone on X

Charlton sign Ethan Pye immediately, probably THE best centre half in league one, also left footed and 23, would be great to have around for Bell if he gets injured multiple times again.

It’s a very badly worded tweet but 99% certain that’s a want rather than something that’s happened

Of course it is, unless he stormed off the Wembley pitch, phoned his agent demanding a move today and signed the contract in time for the person on X to put the message out at 3:15pm.

Just someone who wants Pye opposed to anything being in it

I genuinely feared during the league 1 final today we would sign the defender that was too weak to stop the dalby bicycle kick this afternoon.

then you link us to Pye. Then i checked the games photo’s of the bicycle kick and 🙈

(In fairness to him and you this may be his only mistake of the season)

Apter and Tanto will now return this week and will know what the future is , expect Apter to stay but think Tanto who been extremely unlucky not get more starts and a run with Kelman as a front two will leave ..

Loved one of the matches when both Sodjes were playing and we sung we've got two Sodjes, he's got two yellow cards! Other than that I only really remember Sam, not so much Akpo
    Tuesday 24th November, 2009.

    Charlton 4-2 Bristol Rovers

Akpo Sodje scored our 4th and it also unfortunately turned out to be the last time we’d see Kelly Youga, who never really recovered from an injury in the first half.

The player in question of 2 yellow cards was Chris Lines, which to this day I still believe he got 2 yellows and stayed on.

I was the mighty age of 14, don’t ask how I remember all this so clearly, I just do 😅
    I remember that game vividly.
I was shouting at Kelly Youga to get up as I thought he was making a meal of the tackle/foul.
    A terrible misjudgement.

Tanto just wasn’t as effective at taking on players and using his pace to create chances for himself and others compared to TC unfortunately.
