That was so cringeworthy I had to turn it off. Paolinho crying after scoring a shit goal. Porro rolling around on the floor, holding his head, trying to get the game stopped again, and then realises the ref isn't going to stop it, so he jumps up and sprints back. Them celebrating winning a foul towards the end. Jumping around like they just won the league. Just a gross club on a par with Palace. I'm gutted they haven't been relegated.
Did we celebrate after we beat Hull to secure our survival?
Were we expected to be at the top end of the table?
    Nope, but neither were Spurs.

    They finished 17th last season.

I'm so glad Emery didn't get voted as manager of the season. He made sure that Edmonton lot stayed up.

Quite a few arsenal fans in the home end of selhurst park but TBF that doesn't surprise me much.

West Ham relegated only a few days after Shady Lady Brady steps down. She must have been better than I thought!

Quite possibly the most boring side in that league. Have been for a long time. Just a bit of furniture you have in your house that you rarely use it's just there to fill up a corner.

Fair play to Bournemouth (first time in their history) and Sunderland (first time in over 50 years) for both qualifying for European football next season.

I suspect both teams will have to seriously improve their squads to cope with all the extra games they'll now have to play.

I still think it's crazy that Iraola is leaving.
Really hope he doesn’t go to Palace. Bizarre that he’s leaving.

An awful day for the London fanbase.

Jordan Pickford has made more passes than their wingers.

West Ham can only blame themselves but that was a proper vile performance from Everton and killed any excitement.
As much as I hate totteringham, they were never in danger as played it out well.

Keep ball, free kicks, corners and throw ins took an age.

The mickys could have played all day and not scored.

Just four years ago Sunderland finished 5th in league one, below Wigan, Rotherham, MK Dons and Sheff Weds.

Chelsea missing out on Europe altogether the highlight of the day for me

I think the spurs fans will be feeling massively relieved tonight, but deep down proper embarrassed.  Of course they’re gonna celebrate staying up, but to have this sort of season coupled with Arsenal maybe doing the double, the celebration is coming off the back of knowing it would’ve been unthinkable to get relegated

Personally I would’ve preferred to see them drop for the comedy value and absolute shell shock among their fan base, and although they’ve got it really wrong over the last two years (irrespective of winning in Europe last year, they were still toilet and on the slide), West Ham are definitely in worse shape.  Brady is an abhorrent woman who has PR’d herself behind Sugar and thinks she’s beyond the mess she’s left behind by walking.  Sullivan is now firmly public enemy number one there.  He’s been on thin ice for a while, but this could tip him to sell up.  Also under investigation for indecent images of children, his age and them dropping down to the Championship with that shambles of a home ground, he’s got to go.

  • Who will go down next year with Hull, I wonder?

Coventry and Ipswich will both be down there. Hopefully Palace collapse. Leeds, Forest, Everton.

Ipswich managed to bounce straight back so I would think they could go big in the transfer market and be next season Sunderland. So of the 3 - I give them the best chance.

Agreed. But still some serious competition in that league.

Gutted Spurs didn't go down, but that's not a bottom 3 squad. Tudor made them look much worse than they are.

This would give them 59.66 points over the season and a 6th place finish.
Personally, I struggle to call missing out on a Champions League spot by 1 point awful.

And me as it was a damp squib of a final day.
I'm surprised that the Premier League and Uefa don't bring in a new European competition so the 10th team in the Premier can have midweek European games.

    Also-ran Euro league ?

Listen to the bollocks when Players sign for Chelsea this summer from the likes of Bournemouth, Brentford, , Sunderland and even Aston Villa etc.

This is what you won't hear:

"I have signed for Chelsea as i don't like being paid a fortune and then have to travel to Europe midweek when all the afternoons  and evenings are spare to be seen in clubs and around town at expensive restaurants. I guess we will have to play the odd Premier league midweek but hopefully not too many"

Interesting that Jamie Carragher just said that although disappointed today, West Ham will be back.

I’m not so sure. I’d be confident Spurs would bounce straight back, but the biggest positive for me about it being West Ham that go down is that I’m not convinced they’ll dominate the way some think.

At least, I hope they don’t!
Agreed. Relegation for West Ham has been coming for a few years now. Short-term planning, no real vision, wasted all the Rice money.
They’ve taken out a big loan also & are paying £19m a year in interest.
If the Hamsters are short of a few bob and need a bit folding to get them through next year they can always sell their ground to raise cash ...

    😉

I think the anti Spurs posters are forgetting the horrific injury list they have had.
Also have to agree with Golfie that Kinskys late save was superb.

Everton with zero shots on target today!
Eh ????   So the great save by Kimsky in the end was a figment of my imagination.

You’re a bit late aren’t you. I posted that before the save!
