I quite liked Lyndon Dykes, agree he wasn't prolific as a forward regarding scores, but then again no-one was, that was more to do with supply and the system we played rather than ability, agree he will probably go but he wasn't as bad as he is being painted...🤷♂️24

Dykes & Leaburn are not the strikers to keep you in this division. Assuming Godden signs & Kelman stays then we need to add at least 2 more striking options. Kanu & Mbick need another season out on loan.
And TC shouldn't be part of the "striker" options.18 -
Moves like a truck and apart from 1 reasonable effort against QPR I don’t think he showed decent shooting ability. He did play a role in keeping us up but my god it wasn’t pretty. His agent must have good contacts in the press.3

Football League World reporting today that Jordi Osei-Tutu (Bolton) has left and is a target for us.
Thought he was a standout in the play-offs. Apparently had an injury-free season, so maybe doesn't fit the type of player we go for!12 -
Think some of these clubs need to recruit some fifa/football manager nerds, cause if the best they can come up with is Lyndon Dykes with there being north of 70,000 professional strikers alone, someone is stealing a living.
If we had just been relegated from the prem, and then been linked with Lyndon Dykes, I'd be in a right state.6 -
Was he released or just opted to leave ?Addicksi said:
I was surprised they released him. Free kick taker as well.AberystwythAddick said:Not sure if he’s been mentioned but Callum Slattery has left Motherwell on a free plays multiple midfield positions, 30 + appearance last season after qualifying for Europe1 -
If we’re taking players, Bolton are releasing it scares me about the direction of the clubAddickted2U said:PWR -

Dykes’ agent working overtime with some of these teams.0

Without Dykes contribution since he joined we would've gone down.47

Funny enough, the club they played for last season stayed in this divisiongolfaddick said:Dykes & Leaburn are not the strikers to keep you in this dividion33 -

Links to Millwall and Burnley scream his agent trying to get more money out of us.I think we can do better but equally if he does resign I trust that Jones knows what he’s doing.12

I'm sure that it was approvedKap10 said:
Unless this is your first close season you must realise this is what the summer months bring from May to September complete bollox and speculation... this is Summer Charlton LifeSword65pf said:Saw 96 new posts, thought, oh!!! Just wait until he scores a hat trick against Haiti. Barcelona and Real Madrid will be vying for his signature. The Red Robin said:Dykes’ agent working overtime with some of these teams.1 -
Dykes & Clarke both the same for me. If they’re cheap then 100% id have them. If they’re in any way expensive which I fear they will be then no thanks8

Anyway Monday transfer window opens and I'm looking forward to all those done deals being announced

I know it's unlikely but I really hope we're pushing all out for Tolaj.0

For what it's worth the window opens June 15th to Sept 1st...Kap10 said:

Clarke is a surefire starter... Dykes, if signed, should be backup, and I wouldn't be against thatPelling1993 said:Dykes & Clarke both the same for me. If they’re cheap then 100% id have them. If they’re in any way expensive which I fear they will be then no thanks4 -
We already have a lump that doesn’t score goals in Leaburn - do we really need another? I’ve no idea why any fan would want us going into next season with the exact same strike force.CAFCsayer said:

The reason our lumps don’t score many is because we never create chances for them.arny23394 said:

Dykes is a proven Championship player, Leaburn isn’t. He definitely tailed off at the end but Dykes was pivotal in helping us stay up and turning our form around. We are likely battling relegation again and Dykes is a good realistic option given our budget and style of playarny23394 said:

Dykes is an extremely limited player but suits the football NJ wants us to play. I don't enjoy watching him play.2

With the right recruitment I think we'll see a different kind of football this season, maybe not full blown total football or tiki taka, but I think we'll actually try and play a bit more football this season6 -
Talks have been on going with Lloyd for nearly 4 weeks now. Naturally there is interest in him. Club need to do more at this stage. He would be a colossus lossAthletico Charlton said:Would like some news on contracts for Ramsey, Kanu, Jones and TC; who I think I am right in saying are about to enter their final years.
I also assume the bookies have us as second favourites for relegation again, ahead of Lincoln but behind everyone else given that our odds for promotion are second longest (relegation odds not out yet).11 -
This reminds me of that Powelly season when we had no money after finishing just outside the play offs.3

Why? Is there any evidence to suggest we’re broke with dodgy owners?Charlton43 said:This reminds me of that Powelly season when we had no money after finishing just outside the play offs.25 -

Haha that’s the spirit4 -
Far more likely we spend £10m+ on fees again than have a summer like 2013 when we got a handful of cheap frees and loans.Charlton43 said:This reminds me of that Powelly season when we had no money after finishing just outside the play offs.5 -
I wouldn't be surprised to see the transfer record broken for the right player. It's stood for what 25 years?Scoham said:
