The "Jones Zone " Tactical Blueprint.

I asked AI to come up with a design for the new dugouts for next season incorporating a technical area specifically for Nathan Jones.

This is it. AI called it the "Jones Zone" (and mentioned that it would be in breach of FIFA Law 1.12)

Key Features of the Design

  • Pitch Overlap: The boundary line extends 3 metres directly onto the pitch, allowing Nathan Jones to shout instructions right next to his wing-backs.
  • Enlarged Footprint: The box is triple the width of a standard technical area, spanning from the halfway line all the way to the 18-yard box to accommodate full-sprint pacing.
  • Padded Sprint Track: The touchline section features a high-traction rubber surface to prevent slipping during intense goal celebrations.
  • Built-in Cooldown Box: A small, dedicated square at the back of the technical area containing a hydration station and space to decompress after referee interactions.

    It also includes

  • The Overlap Deck: An elevated-perspective zone that visually cuts into the field of play, putting the manager directly parallel to the action.
  • Nathan's Runway: A long, unobstructed highway spanning bench-to-bench, built specifically for continuous pacing and explosive knee slides.
  • The Ranting Quadrant: A strategically placed rear buffer zone designed to absorb high-energy feedback directed at the fourth official.
  • Pitchside Tactical Station: Bolted directly onto the front-right edge of the pitch overlap. It features weather-proof magnetic markers so Nathan can aggressively redraw formations mid-play without leaving the field.
  • [🪑 ASSISTANT SPOT] Dedicated Safety Seat: Positioned securely in the back-right quadrant. This keeps the assistant manager close enough for consultations, but entirely out of the path of Nathan's high-speed pacing runway.

Helpfully, it also provided an analysis of Nathan's heat map.

. Match-Day Activity Heatmap This graphical overlay tracks Nathan's spatial density and movement frequency over a standard 90-minute fixture:

  • 🔴 Deep Red (85% Density) — The Pitchside Whiteboard Edge: Concentrated heavily at the absolute furthest boundary inside the pitch. This is where he spends the majority of the match pointing, shouting instructions directly into the winger's ear, and aggressively shifting magnetic markers.
  • 🟠 Bright Orange (10% Density) — The Runway Highway: Constant, high-velocity linear pacing between the Home Bench and the Away Bench lines, usually clocked at a brisk jog.
  • 🟡 Yellow (4% Density) — The Ranting Quadrant: Short, highly explosive bursts of activity. Spikes immediately following controversial refereeing decisions, characterized by rapid gesticulation.
  • 🟢 Green (1% Density) — The Assistant Spot / Bench: Virtually untouched. Used briefly during half-time transitions or during a lengthy VAR review to take a single sip of water.

See AI is useful……
