Well done County. Fully deserved victory for the oldest (Pro) (Association) football club in the world.
They’ve been in the doldrums far too long!

County been the much better side. Can’t see what the fuss is about Iorpenda so far.
As his biggest fan, he was quiet. However early on he gave a slide-rule pass to Jatta that was narrowly cut out. County seemed to attack mainly down the left so he was marginalised but still did plenty of pressing/covering and won tackles. Perhaps NC saw a weakness on that side. He even moved left after subs and looked comfortable.

Good goal from Ness. Salford are a poor man’s Wrexham plus Karl Robinson so glad Notts County won

Delighted for County, and our ex young player and all round good egg, Ness.

Hull City supporters of a certain generation remember nearly dropping out of the football league altogether in the late 90s on two occasions. They’ll take a year in the Premier League as part of that rollercoaster even if it’s a struggle.
They've been in the Prem before, more than once .. and when they come straight back down next season, they'll have lots of parachute cash

The parachute money is exactly why it was so important that Millwall fucked up. They’ve got about an eight year start on us and we can’t afford to have them millions better off to boot.

So pleased for Lucas Ness. Always gave his all  for us. Even better he did it against a team managed by Karl Robinson.

All those parachute ‘millions’ do is provide a cushion to avoid bankruptcy caused by having the costs of a PL structure suddenly without the benefit of the full PL revenues. The only way Millwall, or any other club, would benefit from one season in the PL is if they basically kept the same squad that got them promoted and weren’t overly generous when renegotiating their contracts.

    The Burnley model.

Can do what Ipswich did and just buy a top end championship squad with the prem money so you’re ready to go back up again once the inevitable relegation comes in

You make it sound like promotion to The Premier League is a bad thing. Using Millwall as an example even though they thankfully failed. They were very much one of the best teams in The Championship last season. That’s pretty much undeniable. They have a good squad already. Had they gone up that squad would be significantly improved and even a relegation would leave them stronger than they are now both financially and in terms of squad strength. I pray to god that we have such a disaster on our hands. A yo-yo club for a few seasons and then who knows you might get lucky and stick. Millwall are a well run club and the mere thought of them in The Premier League makes me feel queasy.

He has got to get a years ban surely ?

  • The latest news looks very dodgy? I can't believe Saints haven't sacked him yet? Looks bad on the whole club? Probably worried about who else he could implicate in the hierarchy if he goes?
They will probably pay him off as hush money to save the club.

Presumably the compensation is way less if he’s banned

His reputation is ruined,  as now nobody will credit his tactical and managerial ability for Southampton's turnaround,  and instead it'll be because of cheating.

Southamptons latest statement is another embarrassment, now suggesting members of the appeal panel are connected to Middlesbrough (one played a single game for them on loan 35 years ago).

Just own the fact you acted like c***s and got caught.

Making their way close to the top of clubs I dislike.

Southampton tried to delete images of the intern from the internet. They have behaved arrogantly and certainly not in good faith with the disciplinary process purely on the basis on attempting to delete evidence. They must now surely get the whole book thrown at them. I’d put them into league two and deduct 16 points. Ban Ekhert from ever holding a managers position in english  football.

This is the written judgement for the last set so I doubt it

As bad as that Southampton statement is, there is a serious miss judgement by the EFL to appoint someone to a panel who has played for one of the teams involved.
Sure it was one game and 30 years ago but the fella should have declared that and excused himself from the panel.
The second individuals link seems tenuous and non contentious however.

Southampton will need a new PR agency as well as a new manager.
