I do know we are looking at, at least 1 Luton player. Had that from someone very close to both clubs.
I know we were looking at Adebayo recently, scored 10 in 27 in their prem season so clearly a good player however has struggled with a bad injury recently.

Only 28 so if he is past his injury issues could be a good signing but feels a little risky considering our form with injury prone players.
    Surely it's Adebayo or Dykes

In which case it probably means negotiations with both to compare what each one wants and which is better value for it, playing the agents against each other somewhat.

Wasn't it Jordan Clark, who has just extended his contract there?

Good player but his injury record will generate the usual response.

Why haven’t we signed anyone yet?  Next season is looking like a write off already
How do know we not signed anyone window don’t open for a couple of weeks yet
Because we would have heard. We have a poster here with good contacts inside the club ... oh! Cancel that. I was thinking of you.

Fits the mould perfectly of a Nathan Jones striker but the injuries would be enough to put me off to be honest.

As others have said I'm cool with selling Kanu if it's for a decent fee and a sell on clause.

If we're serious about pushing up the championship table we need to upgrade in every department and all that will do is push someone like DK further down the pecking order.

If we can't get him to sign a contract extension, sell him, because he's not going to be good enough to make a huge impact on the championship this season, and then he goes for free anyway

Adebeyo came back from nearly a season out following surgery to getting injured again and needing another operation.

Trying to think when was the last time we signed a player with injury issues that has made an impact. They have always been crap or their injury record has got even worse.

I'd say Bell's injury issues stayed the same but that isn't a particularly high bar

Yeah good shout, somehow forgot Bell. If he never had to play LWB last season, I’d imagine he would have missed fewer games.

I think he was quietly so good he's gone under the radar a little bit

    Kanu is this year's Leaburn.

Sorry to say that I'd rather spend money & buy a proven Championship striker than take a gamble on another youngster with no Championship experience.

Yes, I know that costs money but I'm.afraid that is what it takes.
Got to agree with this. You cannot go into a championship season with a maybe, in any position, but in a team that doesn't score enough goals the need for a quality finisher is probably a no brainer. Charlton have a problem in the forward positions, lots of quantity and very little quality, if Dykes re-signs then Dykes with cover from Leaburn and Godden with cover from Kelman or visa versa, would be virtually the same as last season and once again we would struggle up front, if we bring in a forward to correct that, then question marks over Kanu and Leaburn would emerge, loans for those two and Gasman are a must and I'm sorry but if Brighton renew their interest in Mbick and any sale helps us to bring quality to the squad, then it will probably happen.
Depends if you think the strikers are the problem. Are any of them poor finishers? I think TC is a poor finisher (but offers a lot more other qualities), but the rest are at the very least average finishers but some (Godden and Kelman) very good finishers. If we sign new wing backs and midfielders, and become a better team that gets them more chances, then they will score more goals. If you put Vipotnik into our team
last season, I doubt he does much better than what we had

I’d be ok with Kelman, TC, Dykes, Leaburn, Godden as options again this season. 3 of them had little or no championship experience last season, so you’d think would be much better for it this season.

Sometimes it can be about developing players we have rather than always signing new ones. In fact there’s probably no way that we are going to be able to sign our way to the top, we need to be able to develop players and make them top championship players
I agree with all of that Naby, but at the moment we have eight strikers on the books, Dykes signs, it's nine. Even if we don't bring anyone in then nine strikers is certainly too much of a muchness, move four out and the wages freed up allows some scope for a better quality striker to arrive.

Kind of pleased with the Jordan Clark news to be honest, think we should be looking higher. He’s 32 and adored at Luton and can see out his career there.

Judging by Jones’ comments on articles about being “ruthless”. I would imagine we will offload Kanu.

Risk for not doing so and doing so. But I think we should cash in.
If NJ is being ruthless, he might be thinking of selling much bigger fish. After all he was happy to sell fans favourite Alfie May.

The issue I have with our strikers, is that none of them to me fit the blueprint of what NJ would look for in a dream striker, which would be active pressing, decent enough pace, physical presence to hold the ball up, and decent finishing. However painful it might be to look back, 2019 Lyle Taylor would be perfect under NJ.

I think this summer will be very interesting, as all our strikers have question marks about them. All could be kept, but all could also be released/sold if the right offer comes in. Including Kelman, if NJ thinks the money could be used on someone more suitable for his style of play.

I'd be very surprised if we sold Kelman without losing money on the deal.
That aside, unless Jones changes his formation and ideas we could have Kane upfront and we'd still struggle to score goals.

Ooops, best tell Rangers to put Shakland back then.
