Not yet.Alwaysneil said:So even if hamilton beats antonelli off the line, he's got a new penalty right?0 -
Yeah but they recon he was 30 car lengths behind under the safety car when the maximum is 10 so he prob will0

He didn’t. For any F1 fan who’s never been, just get yourself here. It’s spectacular regardless of the racing! 🥂0

I've been...late 80's. Was a great weekend. Yes the race is always a bit of a procession but the atmosphere, the whole place, the extravagance...when you're actually there experiencing it ... its quite special. I've been to many GPs (but not for a few years now) but Monaco is the most memorable. Not sure about all the penalties today - something not right. Not a Verstappen fan but shame he went out as was expecting a good battle between him and Antonelli.1

I feel for Leclerc a lot there, surely when picking up Strolls car they could see the fucked tarmac then, and should have red flagged at that point to clean it up. I know Charles blamed the brakes and thinks the surface didn't affect it but with hindsight I'm sure that will change.
Monaco needs to fuck off though, the fact you can now just willingly drive 40-50kph slower and not get overtaken by anyone, that's not racing in any stretch of the imagination1 -
History. Sometimes a bit of tradition is worth having.

Perhaps Monaco can arrange for parts of the circuit to break up every yesr, to introduce a bit of jeopardy to the annual procession.
If I want history I'll go to Brands Hatch for the Historic Masters.0 -
When even F2 can't produce quality races at a circuit you know you're in a bit of a pickle.1

Yesterday just proved what a joke of a race Monaco is.0

Although I have my suspicions the Madrid circuit if it's even finished in time could be a complete joke race too.1

Criminal that its replaced Monza as the F3 finale, especially if Madrid becomes a track that’s difficult to overtake on, cant be deciding such a Championship effectively on a Qualifying sessionMarcusH26 said:Although I have my suspicions the Madrid circuit if it's even finished in time could be a complete joke race too.0 -
Monaco is a weird one isn’t it, an anachronism from F1’s past that stands out like a sore thumb.
On one hand it is a snooze fest of a race with it nigh on impossible to overtake. The drivers are not even having to push that hard (thus the almost total lack of mistakes / yellow flags) during the race - up until “track surface gate”!
But on the other hand if it gets dropped from the calendar it will be replaced but sone soulless anodyne race in either the US or Middle East.
Have thought that maybe they should split the points scoring for the weekend. Maybe half points for quali on Saturday and half for the race Sunday. You could possibly even tweak the qualifying rules to make more of a spectacle of it.

I thought this was a pretty cool shot of Monaco though tbh5 -
So cringe with sky sports matey running around like a labrador trying to 'interview' famous people around the pit lane0

I really enjoy Martin Brundle's pit lane chats. Doesn't take any nonsense from the "so called" celebs and always tries to find drivers, ex-drivers or genuine F1 followers.Redvalleyeast said:So cringe with sky sports matey running around like a labrador trying to 'interview' famous people around the pit lane4 -
Love it when he finds the celebs that are genuinely there as fans and he can have a proper conversation about the sport. The likes of Colin Farrell are always great value.CafcWest said:

Oh yeah,i like Brundle, its the other fella, cant think of his name,he tried to interview Michael Douglas yesterday and the best question he could muster up to a clearly disinterested Douglas was " Did you enjoy the F1 film'CafcWest said:

Could have had some bants with Farrell in Miami about whether he was particularly enjoying the F1 hospitality or if he brought in his own supply.1

The grid walk doesn’t really matter, it’s 10 minutes of throwaway TV. What’s more of an issue is that he and Crofty had no idea what was happening yesterday and it wasn’t the first time. The only times we gained any insight yesterday was when Bernie Collins was talking and they just frequently ignored her1

Alpines right of appeal against Gaslys double penalty in Monaco has been deemed admissable.1
-
Mercedes are going to be permitted an engine upgrade following the ADUO review. The pecking order is deemed to be: Red Bull, Mercedes, Ferrari, Audi and Honda. Mercedes get 1 upgrade, the rest get 2 and Red Bull get none. Bet Max loved getting that news!0

So the RB chassis is no great shakes then.Rizzo said:Mercedes are going to be permitted an engine upgrade following the ADUO review. Ferrari well placed...... 3rd fastest engine, one of the best chassis and now two upgrades to come.0 -
Feel for Russell as well then, if he shouldn't have gotten a penalty for speeding either, then he shouldn't have been given a penalty for not serving it incorrectly... Hows your luck!!MarcusH26 said:Alpines right of appeal against Gaslys double penalty in Monaco has been deemed admissable.0 -
Yeah, but knowing Ferrari, they'll probably spend one credit on painting the timing cover and the other on changing the spark plug materials from Irdium to Parmesan.DamoNorthStand said:

Alpine win their appeal and Gasly gets his P3 back.0
-
Surprised it hasn't opened a huge can of worms where everyone appealed the speeding penalties. Russell got one, didn't take it properly and got a drive through as a result, completely ruining his race, for instance1
