Any hints on our home fixture yet ?
Are we definitely having one this season?

Local Premier League side would be a good test.

Seems there's only one stand open for the Gillingham friendly, any thoughts on where the majority of Addicks fans might end up? EDIT: disregard.. completely wrong about this ha

Weirdly on the club's ticket page it has got home tickets up for both Friday 31st July and Friday 7th August. The latter can't be right, given the Caraboa cup is on the 8th.

    Probably an error.

Have bought 2.  Seems away fans in blocks G and H.  Fair few already sold.  Bit tricky to navigate on their website but got there in the end.

Does that leave any free Saturday's for a home friendly?

No as the EFL Cup starts weekend 08/08. I have a hunch the Unity Cup ended our chances of a home friendly

I imagine all the stadium work this summer is a bigger issue, especially as the west stand dugouts are being rebuilt.

By rotation, the first match of the season will be away this time so if the league cup match is also away that gives the club another two weeks to bed the pitch down and finish any work on the stadium

Gillingham and Reading away. Good motivation for the players to not get relegated by reminding them of terrible away days lower down the pyramid

I'm guessing the Welling friendly tradition has been discontinued due to their habit of injuring our players

Reading is good now the Elizabeth line is running, but the issue is will there still be the bus from the ground to the station, and can we get tickets on the day.

Great we can continue the tradition of 0-2 Reading away defeats.

Reading Green Park station is a 15 minute walk from the stadium, trains depart from Reading at 7/37 minutes [past the hour], journey time 7 minutes.
Return trains depart at 12/42 [past the hour].
Freedom passes issued by the 32 London Boroughs allow free travel to Reading on the Elizabeth Line, but you will need to buy a ticket for the journey between Reading/ Reading Green Park. Day Return price 3.90 [£2.55]
    Railcard price in brackets.
When Reading announce the ticket details i would imagine they will also inform people if tickets will be on sale on matchday & if the the shuttle buses will be running.

Has the usual Nathan Jones pre season abroad been confirmed? Or are we switching it up?

The preseason tour tends to get announced last min to avoid fans turning up.

NJ likes to keep that one behind closed doors which imo is fair enough.

I expect it is already booked up for the week between Dartford & Gillingham

Suspect there will be a Tuesday or Wednesday night game or two thrown in there at some point

It’s hardly a secret location though, NJ has been going there for almost a decade!🤣

People won’t book flights until the club confirm it’s happening…..just in case NJ throws a curve ball & goes somewhere else this yr!

The later the club announce the trip the less chance of fans getting cheap flights / turning up.

He wants it to be squad time rather than a Dean Holden style fan interaction trip…which is understandable / fair enough.

Clubs were used to be able to make certain requests for opening day fixtures if there situations with ground repairs etc.
