A bad day at the office, we have to quickly move on, work hard, take the positives etc1
-
Lintott and Denly have bowled, between them, 28 overs in the comp at a rate of exactly a run a ball.Addick Addict said:Another excellent spell from Lintott (4-0-19-0)1 -
Much needed!!! Hunt was outstanding.thai malaysia addick said:

Don't think it was the easiest pitch to bat on but you can't be throwing away early wickets like Kent did.
Really impressed by Dudgeon and Lintott on the Kent side of things0 -
We are so inconsistent in this comp, Stewart over Evison was the wrong call too.2

Live he looks like an absolute nightmare to get away.Very astute signing.Addick Addict said:Another excellent spell from Lintott (4-0-19-0)2 -
Tomorrow's game vs Essex is my annual cricket jaunt outside of East Anglia (it's OK, my jabs are up-to-date
) and this is the Kent squad for the match:
Fingers crossed the weather holds up and play goes ahead as planned ... and that the Kent players turn up and serve up something considerably better than Sunday's effort against Sussex.6 -

No Joey Evison from the squad picked for the Sussex game - a shame as his inclusion would at least give the option to make the batting deeper1
-
For a wrist spinner, he is quick through the air but still retains control . Of course the other thing is that batters don't get to play left arm leggies very often. In fact, I am struggling to think of another one currently playing.MarcusH26 said:

Interestingly, Warwickshire have four players in their side capable of bowling right arm offies (i.e. turning the ball the same way as Lintott) so that is probably why they are comfortable with loaning him out.1 -
Evison was in the original 14 for the Sussex but then taken out. He's not in this squad and nothing has been said in the write up regarding any injury. He didn't play for the 2s today so his absence could be for personal reasons though, usually, as in the case of Stewart and Denly previously, Kent do tend to let that be known.FremlinsFellow said:No Joey Evison from the squad picked for the Sussex game - a shame as his inclusion would at least give the option to make the batting deeper0 -
Yeah I immediately said to my brother as soon as he came on that I couldn't think of many other left arm leggies in the county game. Seemed to bowl with a lot more pace than say a Matt Parkinson.Addick Addict said:

Yep. Lack of pace has always been Parkinson's problem. In the modern game, If you float it up there, it gives time for batters to use their feet or rock back and pull or cut. I did see a bit of him working pre-season and he did say that he was working on getting his speed up. His other issue is that he doesn't bat and you have to be an exceptional spinner to command a place on that alone unless the team is fortunate to have a couple of other all-rounders.MarcusH26 said:

Muyeye still not being available is annoying.1

Should be ok weather wise. Looks like a sunny end to the day when the game starts.2 -
I'm sure most are aware of this but the game is live on Sky tonight3

Seems that Ekansh isn't in today's Lions' squad .
I'd like to have seen him included in tonight's match.1 -

Evison, as I've said above, is a strange one. Hope it's not related to him being retired by Billings.IR94 said:wonder why no evison, i would play him over stewart, when is mueye back?
The minimum "stand-down" period for someone suffering from concussion is 21 days so, in theory and assuming that the first day is the day of the incident, Muyeye might be available for the CC game on 19th June. He must have been symptom-free for at least 14 days.1 -
As much as I'm his greatest advocate, he would have to replace Benjamin or fulfill an all-rounder role to get in the Blast team and I'm not sure that his bowling is quite there yet as he doesn't get in ahead of the likes of DBD, Finch, Crawley, Billings or Denly. Don't get me wrong, he is capable of taking wickets in any match but he has to be able to consistently put the ball where he wants to put it and have all the variations to match. I think the Metro will be the exact vehicle for him to practice doing just that as I'd hate him to take a backward step, psychologically and at this age, because his bowling is still a discipline very much in development.Fanny Fanackapan said:Seems that Ekansh isn't in today's Lions' squad .

So what's actually gone on with the Muthusamy deal? Is he now just around for the back end of the champ?0

From 1st August to the end of the summer giving us, with Dudgeon, three overseas to pick from.MarcusH26 said:So what's actually gone on with the Muthusamy deal? Is he now just around for the back end of the champ?0 -
Handy for the Metro Bank assuming Hollioake sees it as a winnable competition as opposed to down here at Sussex where it's a development competition ala the Vertu Trophy and a chance to look at more youngsters.Addick Addict said:

Yes, with not many being picked up for the hundred, it is a very winnable comp for Kent, if they take it seriously this year.MarcusH26 said:

Maymud's article only mentions the 6 CC games, but with Muthusamy and Dudgeon, presumably they're available for all competitions.0
