Sykes first mentioned back on page 25, plenty of discussion from there should anyone wish to have a readEpsomAddick said:Preston, Blackburn and Charlton are eyeing moves for Bristol City winger Mark Sykes on a free transfer. Sykes, 28, is out of contract at Bristol City this summer and looks set to leave Ashton Gate.

Not writing any of our youngsters off but at the level we are now playing at, they will have to be exceptional to get a place on the bench let alone get game time, this division is brutal and has moved on considerably since we last appeared on it's fixture list.AberystwythAddick said:

Would be ideal for us in the RWB role, but can also play in central midfield if needed. I’m really hoping we sign him, lots of championship experience and is the level of player that improves us that we should be looking forHenry Irving said:Is Mark Sykes, released by Bristol City, any cop?6 -
Jones preferred style of play, ie highly energetic, direct, and defensively resolute, built on aggressive pressing and quick transitions to big menwmcf123 said:

wonder if we’re interested in any of those players.
I was vaguely aware of Hadžiahmetović when he was at konyaspor and know he was at hull on loan this season but I could not tell you how he did.
Even Dzeko plays similarly to dykes but I’m not advocating for signing a 48 year old0 -

Blackpool I would assume would have an interest in Karoy but I think we'll want to see where he is during preseason and get our own midfield signings sorted before even deciding what to do.1

Going into next season with 7 midfielders, and we need 2 new starters in there which would bring us to 9 surely we’d need to offload first unless we’re 100% confident we can easily move players on and Fullah + Anderson are the only guaranteed onesMarcusH26 said:Blackpool I would assume would have an interest in Karoy but I think we'll want to see where he is during preseason and get our own midfield signings sorted before even deciding what to do.0 -
Over the last few months, I have independently completed a recruitment analysis project focused on Charlton Athletic's summer transfer window.
The project combined quantitative analysis through Wyscout data with extensive video scouting, profiling players based on tactical fit, performance indicators, age profile, and potential value in the market. The profiles included are not predictions or rumours but players and positions I believe fit Charlton's needs based on the club's style, squad structure and likely market opportunities. This project focuses solely on recruitment targets and squad-building opportunities rather than outgoing players.
The project includes:
- Charlton’s current squad depth
- Assessment of loan and academy players
- Tactical profiling based on Nathan Jones’ principles
- Identification of positional needs
- Data-led and video-scouted recruitment recommendations
Please note that some player details and statistics may not be fully up to date, as the project was completed over an extended period.
The full report is attached below

Get some signings done.2

I think it will be a slow burn this summer, and I have a feeling our deals will come toward the end of the summer rather than sooner. I think we’re going to pretty ambitious in who we’re trying to bring in which will result in hopefully 2/3 gems, but I also think we’re going to miss out on first choice targets which means we’ll have to pivot and as a result, see more signings toward the back end of the windowCafc451 said:Get some signings done.
Ultimately we can only judge come September, but the start of the season is coming around fast, under 2 months away. The fact the WC has only just kicked off will have a knock on effect, but I do understand people’s sentiment as to getting some deals done quickly. We’ve got some pretty big gaps (3 wing backs if we keep the same formation, and at least 1/2 proper quality players on the ball in midfield. We have time, but I think we have a bit of a job on this summer to build on last season.Fingers crossed things are moving behind the scenes2 -
there a number of deals being worked on but it’s difficult with players and agents away .. things will start to move once players return to trainingcabbles said:

He might not be for this season but I’d imagine he’s still in the long term plan. Docherty has a year left and will probably be in the squad next season, another year on loan and Karoy will potentially be ready to take that role in the squad as the ball winning midfieldersam3110 said:

It is a small spiky ball fiercely proud of its welsh origins and can often be found whizzing around in a high press with a solid defensive structure. It generally is generally comfortable with wingbacks but can be played with wingers with a single striker when player quality permits. Often employed with teams with limited budget or players it is frequently a painful watch until aome of the worse players who dont get jones ball or are just a bit shite are replaced with more active and talented players when it can be quite successful.wmcf123 said:

I was vaguely aware of Hadžiahmetović when he was at konyaspor and know he was at hull on loan this season but I could not tell you how he did.
Even Dzeko plays similarly to dykes but I’m not advocating for signing a 48 year oldSadly the transformation to watchable football does not always occur when Jones ball is attempted leaving previous participating clubs' supporters the often taken option of singing 'Cheer up Nathan Jones, oh what can it mean for a..sheep shagging bastard and a...shit football team' often with some justification, particularly on the latter component of the stanza. The popular refrain is in part due to playing with Jones' ball and in part because the manager himself can be perceived by opposition fans as an annoying little jumped up prick.
Most home fans either think he's greag or begrudgingly respect he is doing a decent or indeed very good job with limited resources ans hope that the butterfly moment occurs sooner rather than later so as to avoid then having to gouge out their eyes.1 -
The likes of Anderson and Kanu are the really tricky ones for me to decide what you ultimately do. They could have a role to play in the future but if we sign AN Other to go with Doc then I don't see where Anderson fits in.Crispywood said:

Ideally I'd want Anderson to a promotion chaser in L1 on loan and get Fullah a loan maybe somewhere like AFCW or Bromley? Not sure League 2 would be worth it for a player like Fullah.0 -
Feel Kanu has done enough to at least be given to Januray to fight for a place.MarcusH26 said:

millwall have signed a midfileder.. wonder if wed be interested in billy mitchell and if he is now avaialable?0
-
If there is any truth in the Blackpool bid for Anderson being rejected then it doesn’t mean that it wont happen. I’m sure most bids for players are initially a bit cheeky but if there’s real interest then a more sensible bid follows on. Personally I’d rather we kept hold of Karoy and got him a season loan as others have said at a decent League One club. A good season under his belt with still a couple of years on his contract could see him having a part to play at The Valley or an enhanced fee should Jones decide to cash in.3

Mitchell is actually out of contract and last I saw had rejected an offer to stay at Millwall.superclive said:millwall have signed a midfileder.. wonder if wed be interested in billy mitchell and if he is now avaialable?1
