This has got Mbappes World Cuo written all over this tournament.

If the last one was Messi’s, we can see where this is going

Mbappe with the arrogant "yeah I'm brilliant" celebration when Olise put it on an absolute plate for him.
    Fair enough that time!

That is appalling goalkeeping from Mendy

Except France probably won't need to be given a penalty every round.

Didn't even get the one they should have, in fact.

Great hit that. Maybe keeper could’ve done slightly better as it was very central.

Every World Cup is Mbappe’s World Cup, the bloke is ridiculous every four years in a French shirt.

Great attacking performance in the 2nd half from France, but they did give up a lot of chances.

I think Mbappe might be the worst player I've ever seen

As is the case for the last few years the only team able to beat France is France. If they stay harmonious I don’t think anyone will come close to them. Even trying to shut up shop won’t stop their attacking threat for 90 minutes

I do think a better team than Senegal could do them on the counter attack. Senegal had numerous chances first half.

Interesting thing with 8 games not 7 is there's that one extra chance for a team to have an off day and be out.

    Early observations

    1. been some great goals so far
    2. lots of positive, wanting to attack football. Huge admiration for France conceding so late yet immediate thought is to attack positivity and shoot from distance
    3. Seems far less diving, play acting, corner shenanigans and general shithousery than what we are increasingly seeing in domestic game

And I think I’ve only seen a medical team on the pitch once?

It's nice that the Norwegian team let local children with electrical tape put the numbers the back of their shirts
