Do we know he’s a fan or are we just assuming because he once wore a shirt on Instagram that was probably gifted to him by one of our players?
As others have said - he can afford gym clobber.  it just happens to be the shirt of his club's rival.  imagine if one of our current players was spotted in a Millwall shirt in the gym.  And anyway, even if hes not a fan it looked good on him so he should sample he real thing
Footballers wear random/old gear all the time. Kanu was training in his academy training kit this week. “He can afford gym clobber” isn’t an explanation and just shows we’re guessing. Guessing is fine but it’s being treated as an established reason he’d want to come here

Makes a lot of sense and pretty much what we’ve all identified as the issue positions. If they’re all a step up in quality (and I’d assume they would be), 8 signings works for me. Quality not quantity and all that

"Told we’re only looking at a lcb, 3 wingbacks 3 midfielders and 1 striker this window"

    Let the melt down begin

"Only 8 players? We need 11!!!"

    "We're going down"

"Jones out, one striker isn't enough"

"We have 7k empty seats. Why don't we cut ticket prices?  We'll sell more beer so that will fund all the transfers"

The wingbacks are surely a definite thing as without reinforcement we only have Edwards, Asiimwe and maybe Ramsay as "natural" WBs, one of which is coming back from injury, one who had a decent not great season in L1 last time out and the last one can be brilliant or awful in equal measure.

    Yeah... Sounds about right...
LCB = Upgrade on Gillesphey or Bell even drops to backup
3-Wing Back = Duh, we've only got Edwards at the moment, and Campbell at a push
3-Midfielders = Okay thats Coventry / Docherty now backup you'd potentially hope
1-Striker = Again makes sense if we're going to struggle to get Godden and / or Dykes to renew
Especially with the latter we dont necessarily need Strikers, we need to be able to create more chances for those we've got

“When are they going to fix the hand dryers”
”staff don’t know what they are doing”
    ”served flat beer”
    ”don’t like the new screen”
“Jones won’t enter the loan market”

I might be completely wrong but I feel this is much less likely to be our recruitment stategy being leaked to a podcast, and much more likely the podcast looking at our squad and the obvious gaps and saying they’ve been told that’s where we are looking so they can appear to look ITK

There are hardly any leaks these days from us, so I very much doubt they have a credible source leaking them info

Yes, 8 is a decent number of players,  considering we're talking first teamers, and the number of players we currently have.
    It's not 8. It's only 8.

Essentially an upgrade on Gillesphey, a replacement for Fevrier, a replacement for Chambers, a replacement for Clarke, a replacement for Coady, an upgrade on Anderson, a replacement for Berry, a replacement for Dykes.

Expect to see Gillesphey, Mitchell, Anderson, Asiimwe, Kanu and a couple of others leave in some capacity, and maybe we manage to sell a player to raise some of the funds.

i'd be surprised if anyone at the club leaked anything to Charlton Chronicles (or anyone else for that matter) as she is well known at the club.

We'll find out in time.  Patience ~ R. Slade

That is exactly what that is, they’ve posted it to look in the know, I could have posted the exact same thing cause it’s obvious where our weaknesses are. What the reality is though we are yet to find out. One thing I am confident on, and having no contacts whatsoever, is there will be players leaving and one or two might not be what we anticipate. If we are to move forward Jones knows he has to make tough calls this summer. We aren’t going to rush signings, we need to make sure they are the right ones, even if they take a week or two or three longer than we hope.

You are getting way ahead of yourself - Scotland will never reach the water closet final. I get that they are shit and it’s quite apt….But they will shit themselves before reaching it.

LCB, 3 wingbacks , 3 CMs and a striker would make sense. Would also probably mean quite a few outs to balance it.
Let's hope the one striker is one who knows where the onion bag is  :#

Owners cant put in say £18m a season also.
    Why not ?

    They are billionaires
Under new rules owners can only inject 33M over 3 seasons with 15M max in one season. Rest of expenditure has to be generated through income (85% total income) although doesnr include academy costs.

Also end of the day whether they’re billionaires or not, we’d be happy to spend that money if we had that amount on Charlton, but I guarantee if a lot of Charlton fans owned a hockey team in the USA we wouldn’t happily and necessarily lose a ridiculous amount of money per year
That's why a lot of Chartlton fans wouldn't buy a hockey team in the USA. Why bother.  If you don't invest to potentially make a profit you will lose money every year. They know that.

They do know that, but they probably enjoy it enough where they’re happy to lose some money but not to the extent where they’re willing to lose enormous amounts.
