My holidays with Mrs TT tend to be different from most.
We've just returned from a motorbike tour, Starting in Devon, Hook of Holland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Netherlands and home.
Three weeks, 4,500 miles and some lovely memories. I wont bore you with the motorbike stuff, but highly recommend the Swedish 'Mary Rose', the Vasa in Stockholm.
We stayed at some great places and want to return to Poland. We ran out of time to do Ukraine and Slovakia. Avoid driving around German cities, they're a nightmare, as are many of their Autobahns.
It maybe impolite to discuss money, but all in, we took 5 ferries (4 over night) and our outlay averaged £200 a day for the both of us.
We did discover that we need more rest time for such a trip now we're mid 60s though.8 -
Yeah too big. Not a snob but P&O is becoming like Butlins on Sea on the larger ships.HastingsRed said:
Big old ship that....was on it earlier in the year.LargeAddick said:Off on a 14 night P&O Med cruise tomorrow on Arvia. Booked over a year ago it’s finally arrived. Really looking forward to some much needed R&R.0 -
It was our first ever cruise...thought we would try something different, really enjoyed it but get where your coming from, we aren't to bothered about sitting around the swimming pool....which did get a 'tad' busy on sea days (just 4 sea days on the Eastern Caribbean Cruise).LargeAddick said:

Just came back from Santorini, no EES system in place at all.
To be honest, it's probably one of the best airport experiences I've had, passport control done in no more than 5-10mins, bags were already out by the time we got through.
Beautiful place and one I'd definitely recommend. We stayed in Perissa which felt a lot more relaxed and less busy than the likes of Oia and Fira... of which both were stunning but heaving with tourists, especially when the cruise ships docked as you had mentioned @DiscoCAFC

in a good or bad way? I'm travelling there in August...Athletico Charlton said:In Marrakesh. It is everything I thought it would be.0 -

Great place to visit - hope you like the weather like it is today in the south of the UK if you're going there in August!DoctorCharlton said:

Santorini 2.5 hours before kick off.
Will I make it or will it be One eye in Crete and One eye in Rhodes?

I have been in Marrakesh recently and was somewhat underwhelmed after a two week tour of Morocco. Shame really as I was looking forward to seeing Marrakesh but maybe I built it up too much.PrincessFiona said:

The hassling was the main detraction for me. Loved the food, the riad, and all the stalls of spices and cooked food etcSolidgone said:

Shouldn’t that be 1.5 hours until kick off as you’re an hour ahead of us and will be able to watch it earlier?Penfolds Perm said:Santorini 2.5 hours before kick off.

Two hours in front, I'll let you know the result as soon as ref blows full time, all dependent on my sobriety. You'll be able to put a bet on.DaveMehmet said:

True story - a friend of ours once asked us, as we were ahead of UK time, if that meant we got the football results before the UK - and they are a teacher, not geography.Penfolds Perm said:

Watching how some footballers miraculously recover after the physio has been on, albeit after theatrically limping for at least 2 strides, after going down like they've been shot or broken their leg/ankle in several places, I think Radcanu needs an ex-football physio0

Not a holiday then?PrincessFiona said:Watching how some footballers miraculously recover after the physio has been on, albeit after theatrically limping for at least 2 strides, after going down like they've been shot or broken their leg/ankle in several places, I think Radcanu needs an ex-football physio1 -
No. Best I copy this to the tennis post! Was watching the England games at the time, so clearly wasn;t paying attention to where I was posting it. Am surprised someone didn't notice earlier - including me!OhMyGodden said:

As previously, I'll leave all evidence of my mistake0 -
Not usually a beach person, but just had a wonderful week island hopping and was pretty nice to switch off and swim in the sea a few times. Very quiet being low season in Thailand, yet only had one morning and one afternoon of torrential rain.
Next up is 3 weeks in the UK for the summer. Looking forward to time with parents and catching up with mates (fingers crossed England still in World Cup at that stage).2 -

It's not for me. But that shouldn't worry you as I think I tend to be different to many on what I enjoy for my holidays. 😀
The quad biking was fun. The market was interesting for 3 hours or so if you ignore the tourist toot at the start and go through to the workshops. We had a lovely evening at Kabana roof top bar with a live band, and a second fun evening watching Morrocco beat Scotland.
We were there 4 nights which was 2 nights too long imo.0 -
Currently in Crete and enjoying life greatly.
