THE BEST THINGS ABOUT SUMMER

I can't stand the ridiculously hot temperatures. However It's great getting out of a bath and not shivering with a towel wrapped around me.

What are your favourite things about Summer?

The light. Waking up in the morning and it being light, outside looking green and nice and then being able to leave and get home from work with it still bright and then still be able to go for a walk in the evening. I hate this extreme heat but what I hate more is getting up in freezing cold darkness and it getting dark while I'm still at work.

Love summer. I hate the oppressive extreme heat we get in (hopefully) short spells.

The long evenings, the warm weather, going to the beach, outdoor living, cooking outside on the BBQ or pizza oven. Everything is better in summer, people are happier London has a great atmosphere with people in parks and spilling out the front of pubs. Cricket, drinking in the park, watersports suddenly become an option in the UK.

The periods of extreme heat are the opposite, London becomes unbearable as you can feel the heat radiating off the concrete. It becomes impossible to get anything done. End up just hiding from the heat and coming alive in the evening.

Being able to visit the seaside, blue skys sitting outside having a drink, nothing like a coal BBQ as well. Bath in the summer is the best 90% cold water cools you right down.

Saving cash ... NO central heating needed (well in most UK areas)

Surely the lord of the manor hoses them down if they're getting a bit whiffy?

Sitting in the dappled shade of a birch tree in the garden, streaming the world cup and drinking beer while a gentle breeze has a fabulous cooling effect

Edit: an hour and a half later, its started to rain :(

I find I spend a fuck ton of cash every summer because of the aforementioned pub gardens

The welcome economic boost for pubs - they need every bit of help if they are to remain a feature of our society and culture.

Sitting in the garden now with a cup of tea and a few of them flying around. Not fun if you get one in the house mind you.
