I think in some ways its actually going to be harder for the recruitment teams this season than it was last year. Last year we could appeal to those top end L1 guys who wanted to prove what they could do in the Championship (the Careys  and Knibbs and such like) and would be appealing to Championship players who were aware they might not get a top end move but didn't want to drop down to L1 (the Bell and Kaminski types).

This season we need to actually improve on that and show we stayed up on merit not by being "less bad." And that means we need to be more ambitious and more competitive and that means we're going to have to work harder to get real benefits. If "surviving again" was the sole aim I think that could be done (relatively) easily enough but if actual progress is the aim, as it should be, its going to take longer to make it happen.

Good news even if I'm not expecting him to contribute much on the pitch next season, hopefully he can continue sharing some experience with Kelman on positioning. Hopefully news of Lloyd's contract extension to follow soon!

Lloyd Jones. Only has a year left so fingers crossed that’s the player who you are referring to

Could do with tying Ramsay up too imo. But would be a statement to tie up jones.

Godden will get plenty of minutes next season. He's by far the best poacher at the club, and without that knee injury would have played a lot more in 25/26.

Very good news that Godden has signed an extension but not sure they should be teasing it like a new signing!

I agree one of the few natural finishers at the Club, along with Kelman. We need a striker or two to finish our top scorers next season, instead of a midfielder.

Triple announcement of Jones, Ramsay and TC would be nice

Kelman is as good a finisher when he gets a chance, but his anticipation around the box isn't at the same level as Godden's. Hopefully he can improve this.

I shall be digging out this post around Easter 2027 to check how "(relatively) easily" it has been.

Please do. And note the "relatively" as that's quite important.

There question marks about all three .. Jones will be 31 when his contract is up and this may be his last chance to test himself .. or signs 2/3 year deal and that will be his career …. Ramsey very good up to Millwall then went downhill drastically..most likey 2 year deal with option of another year .. there been no interest in him this season .. and TC long way off getting a new deal after last season got to improve massively..

The only question for all 3 is whether they want to sign a new contract with us. We will be very keen to sign all of them
