We will get a penalty though as we were 3 overs behind the rate and that was before we moved to seam at both ends

Lots of LBW decisions today. We'd still be playing if Dickie Bird was the umpire  :D

    Milnes bowled beautifully today
Why is he called, ‘Mad Dog’ does anyone know?

    Likes a pint or two?
I thought it was more due to his ‘appetite to win’ on the pitch but it could be off field related.

Great win that and I’m hopeful that seeing that through will have an impact on the rest of the season.

Absolutely brilliant win. We are real promotion candidates.

Our batters have to take the pressure off the bowlers by converting those 40s and 50s into tons but, for now, let's celebrate the win!!!

We don’t normally get batting points so hopefully they will absorb the penalty.

Great win 23 points less penalty,

    A word for Milnes.

There was a certain amount of disappointment when we lost Gilchrist and even some when we re-signed Milnes, albeit perhaps because of the question re his ability to stay fit. This is their respective records:

    Gilchrist last season: 34 wickets @ 30.04 & economy rate of 3.60
Gilchrist this season to date: 12 wickets @ 32.75 & economy rate of 3.82
Milnes this season to date: 26 wickets @ 24.92 & economy rate of 3.17

The top 2 look like to be playing out for a draw.

Really enjoyed that, although must admit I was pessimistic until the ninth wicket fell. Surrey losing as well. Just relying on Durham  to make it a perfect day.

    Surrey lost? Really?

That makes it ONE win all year and FIVE defeats. At this rate we'll be swapping places with them next season.

Really thought that run chase was within the possibilities of Middlesex. Oh me of little faith.

Motion to create 'Division 3', a twice-yearly fixture between Kent and Worcestershire. No promotion
I'll say it again. Except Gloucestershire can join to make it a round robin
Think you meant to say Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Lancashire

Gloucestershire are actually in a league of their own.

Mate we won again! Promotion race is on! Lancashire and Gloucestershire are Div 3, how bad Lancs are compared to their resources is actually much more embarrassing than Gloucs atm

The great news for us is that Durham winning will keep us in or around second place and they are the only county we don't have to play again this season.

Just had look at the Lancs side from this week. How on earth is a side with that much international experience and talent getting rolled by Derbyshire? Really really bizarre set of circumstances there for a couple of years.

Haha, yes so they did. Sorry about that.
    I won’t say I’m a cricket expert or anything.

Any chance of prolonged rain tomorrow.
I reckon we have a good chance to win this tbh.

Looks like we were penalised 2 points perusing the table. We have 117 points ie 21 points from this match.

    Sitting comfortably in second place.
  • Went on Saturday, and even if not everything went Kent’s way, it was still obvious how much better it was than last season. After another win it is great to see so many happy Kent fans!

I was thinking that purely because of the momentum we've put together. However there is one big benefit and that is that it will give the opportunity for Milnes, Dudgeon and Mahmud to re-charge their batteries. A couple more quick games after this one would mean them probably bowling another 30-40 overs in each. Four overs in Blast games and not having to play many, if any, Metro matches will do them the world of good.

When I checked the score on the BBC app earlier, it showed Kent 257-10.

Not sure why not '257 all out'. I even took a photo as thought it odd/unusual
