I’d be pretty happy with that. I think Sykes suits what we need at RWB more than Clarke doessam3110 said:
So they sign Clarke and Sykes joins usmart77 said:Bristol City want to sign Harry Clarke according to an Ipswich journo.
I’m personally not too fussed about Clarke. If Ramsay isn’t signing a new contract, then I’d be a bit more fussed as I think Clarke would then be a signing that we need1 -
We’re being linked with French striker, Sambou Soumano, along with Derby County.Free agent. Stats aren’t great but it’s a rumour.8

Looks to be a free agent so could be a good low risk optionmart77 said:We’re being linked with French striker, Sambou Soumano, along with Derby County.Free agent. Stats aren’t great but it’s a rumour.0 -

Dodgy translation:
At the end of his engagement with FC Lorient, Sambou Soumano will pack his bags and leave the Breton club. The 25-year-old Senegalese striker has left behind a very correct statistical record since his arrival at the club in the summer of 2024. With 21 goals scored and 6 assists delivered under the Lorient colours, he proved his effectiveness and his ability to weigh heavily on the opposing defences. Today, the player is looking for a new ambitious sports project to confirm his talent.Of course, his status as a free agent does not go unnoticed. If several teams in France and Turkey quickly checked its name to strengthen themselves at a lower cost, it is in England that the interest is now the most bright. According to our information, the player's athletic profile is very pleasing across the Channel, with very concrete touches emanating from Derby County (Championship) as well as Charlton.1 -
Ok... I wasn't saying if it was a good or a bad deal, but pointing out something that could happen, seeing as Sykes' name has been loosely linked with us alreadymendonca said:0 -
Interesting link. He’s started just 18 league games in the last 2 seasons, had a great year in 24/25 in the second division. In fact, he’s played 2,215 minutes in 2 seasons and scored 18 league goals, one every 123 minutes.
Is he suddently a player that starts games when that’s not something he seems to have done lots of or, and if there is something in this rumour, is there something we see in him that can make the type of impact we need.
Interesting link even if it turns out there’s absolutely nothing in it.3 -
Stats suggest he's good in the air despite being 5ft 10. Everything else is fairly average but Lorient were a bang average Ligue 1 team from the looks of it

Iqbal for Iraq looks quite useful but has barely played in Dutch top tier. Born in England. Still young.0

I've missed spending the summer window watching YouTube compilations of European strikers not really knowing what the standard is like!jonno said:Obligatory YouTube video for Sambou Soumano...

What's Linda Soumano saying on twitter?10 -
No link to us or real desire from me to sign him but The Athletic are reporting that Luke Chambers is available for loan again. Might be one of our back up options late in the window if we can't get other targets9
-
I think (hope?) he'd probably be a way down the list but I can see it happening if we end up still needing someone in that role. I'd imagine Jones would prefer a permanent signing as well.fenaddick said:No link to us or real desire from me to sign him but The Athletic are reporting that Luke Chambers is available for loan again. I think Chambers is a good championship player, but he’s not a Nathan Jones player. Was probably the best that was available to us in January but the summer window offers plenty more choice so we should be able to find someone that’s of the profile that Jones likes
If Chambers can find a more possession based side and play left back in a back 4 then I think he will do well. He did a decent job for us but I don’t think he was a very good fit for how we play

I doubt he'd be available at the end of the window if he's up for loan now. He wasn't great but not bad either, someone will go for him.fenaddick said:No link to us or real desire from me to sign him but The Athletic are reporting that Luke Chambers is available for loan again.
