We spent almost 16m on wages during the 24/25 season as per the accounts - no idea if that figure includes all staff. Either way, surely 18m wage budget isn’t out of the realms of possibility for last season let alone this season when you take into account clauses for wage increases upon promotion + new signings being on bigger wages as a result of being a championship club.0

If Sheffield United have just received 9 million for their player and we get an offer of say 2 million for Campbell is believe we should take it.NabySarr said:
Ah yes, the great idea of a team that struggles to create any chances selling their only player that creates chances from open play. Thankfully Nathan Jones isn’t that stupid and will be desperately trying to persuade TC to commit his future here, hopefully he manages tooblackpool72 said:

No need to get your nickers in a twist because someone has a different opinion.5 -
You are not allowed to have a different opinion on here otherwise the clique will give you a good verbal kicking. Anyway my last post on here.blackpool72 said:

£2 million for Campbell would be a huge mistake.16

When the political threads were allowed I don't think i made too many friends.
But fuck it I'm still here.1 -

The owners are making a £17m loss a year. There’s no chance they make a profit on their original price accounting for that. Our owners are successful businessmen. Successful business men don’t buy football clubs to flip for profit. Take it with a pinch of salt and see how things progress over the next month
I'm not saying there is any truth in it; but being contrarian, successful businessmen do know when to walk away from a loss rather than chase it.
There were some fairly credible posters on here when this lot bought us saying their plan was a promotion, reduction in losses and flip.
The first bit happened, the second was never going to (and didn't). Who knows what the owners real motives are, I'm fairly sure no one on here does.1 -
That wage figure will be for all players, staff and all other employees of the club. It was also inflated that year because of promotion (most staff and players have promotion bonuses that are included in this accounting line)arny23394 said:We spent almost 16m on wages during the 24/25 season as per the accounts - no idea if that figure includes all staff. I think the changes in the SMT to more serious football people probably don’t suggest a desire to get out any soonAthletico Charlton said:follett said:The same person posting rumours saying we have no money and have done a budget u turn is also saying they think the owners aren’t in it for the long haul and want to flip the club. And it’s my opinion that it would be stupid to want him to leave. Not sure why any Charlton fan would want a young player with potential to leave the club?blackpool72 said:

I hope not. He would be at least 46 years old by now.FirenzeAddick said:Gents maybe take the stories of 70's shagging elsewhere unless a child of that experience might be rumoured to join the club this summer.1 -

Maybe, or they could point to the fact that CM talked bollox about reducing losses, was caught out and fired and Warrick was tainted by association. Andy Scott was just crap.
CFO is a temporary stand in who is known to work to a budget and CEO position has remained unfilled for a year or so. Not exactly building for the future with the exception maybe of Chappel.2 -

Well you know who’s mostly to blame for that……it goes way back, he’s never got over being kicked off here, which was totally justified I may add, he bares/bears a massive grudge and will no doubt take it to his grave.🫤raytreacy said:

Agreed. Campbell needs to play out wide instead of where Jones plays him. Play him in his best position and then he is worth at least double that. Would rather keep him if he plays out wide.ShootersHillGuru said:£2 million for Campbell would be a huge mistake.0 -

Can’t wait till Gavin Carter sticks his head on here again🤣2

This 100%. Drives me mad when people say we need to stop playing him through the middle up front. We’ve barely done that at all for the last season and a halffenaddick said:

I think we definitely would get that. If we’re getting no where near £2m then I’d just keep him even if he’s leaves on a free. Not worth losing him unless it’s a decent feeElfsborgAddick said:NabySarr said:

The summer transfer thread never disappoints. A complete freakshow - and I wouldn't have it any other way #payasyouplay1

How much can you realistically demand though for a player with 1 year left on his deal with 5 league contributions all season with only one season at championship level. With the potential absolutely TC could probably go for a lot lot more but with one year left we can’t demand a fee based on his potential it’s what he’s offering/offered right now.NabySarr said:

Always rumours we have a poor budget or Jones not happy.0
