We get West Brom, Burnley, Wrexham, Norwich, Bolton and Birmingham as midweek aways. Why could they not be swapped with West Ham, Watford, Millwall, Portsmouth, Southampton and QPR?Surely the fixture computer can compile midweek games more friendly for the away supporter.10

Anyone got any more info on the new membership scheme and when it will be announced?0

I can’t see your point here? When have the fixtures ever been ‘combined’ like this ? Also, Wrexham and Swansea are about 130 miles apart, a drive over 3 hours.fenaddick said:NJ will be spitting feathers about the December & early January travel. Playing Swansea twice in a month and Wrexham away but not combining the Wrexham and Swansea away games is ridiculous, for example1 -
Just because they haven’t before doesn’t mean they shouldn’t now, improvements are a good thing! And I know they aren’t close but they’re closer than driving to Wales and back twice in the space of a few weeks.Ducktapeshoerepairs said:

Excellent news - I had to be in England that week, and planned it to end up in London that weekend, just in case we got a home game. Oddly enough, I’ll be just outside Derby before coming to London.0

The fact you say it’s ’ridiculous’ is just plain stupidity how long have you been following football ? I mean Birmingham is way closer to Wrexham than Swansea, so let’s play them as well on the same trip. By your ‘ridiculous’ logic we should play West Brom and Wolves back to back to save you driving there twice … I’ve just re read your original post and it really is nonsensical to say the least.fenaddick said:

Having a differing opinion doesn't mean I haven't been a football fan for long, where's that come from? All I'm saying is that the calendar could be more lined up. On a base level, the team (& fans!) would do 316 less miles of driving (if going stadium to stadium, crude I know but best measure I could think of). That's not an insignificant amountDucktapeshoerepairs said:

I still don’t get it. The fixture list has never ever been based on how much miles fans and teams can save on mileage. If we were to play Swansea away on a Saturday and then Wrexham away on the Tuesday, I promise you the team would come home in between, as would 99% of the fans.fenaddick said:

Just because it hasn’t before why shouldn’t it be now? And why would the team drive home on Saturday, train on Sunday and then drive back on Monday if they could have a temporary base for a few days instead? Teams do it, I remember Charlton doing it a few years ago in fact. I get it isn’t the status quo but I don’t think that makes it ridiculous personallyDucktapeshoerepairs said:

Really? You can’t see a win until November? I assume you are on a wind up.swords_alive said:

So, doesn't seem right but according to the fixture dates on fotmob there are no fixtures over the Easter weekend in March next year?0

Can't see a win until November and even that will be hard work and probably undeserved. Has a relegation feel.I thought that when I looked at last season's fixture list, and that worked out ok. I expect it'll look just as daunting to Lincoln, Blackburn, Portsmouth and West Brom, for example. But no doubt its going to be a tough season.

We usually only get one set of back to back away games that work out nicely, so I'm happy that we have two this season.fenaddick said:NJ will be spitting feathers about the December & early January travel. Playing Swansea twice in a month and Wrexham away but not combining the Wrexham and Swansea away games is ridiculous, for example
Wed 2nd Sep - West Brom (A)
Sat 5th Sep - Stoke (A)
There's also an added bonus for me as I have to be in Birmingham on the Friday, so I'll just be staying in the area for a few days instead of going back and forth.
Tue 26th Jan - Bolton (A)
Sat 30th Jan - Sheff Utd (A)
Nice excuse to make a trip to the Peak District in between the two games.1 -
Every fixture list higher than league one I have ever seen looks daunting to me.
I have second season ‘Oxford’ type worries, and would be more than happy to stay up by a single goal.
However the transfer window plays out, for me I would like to see a talismanic midfielder arrive, like a Bannan if you like, who runs the game for us and worries opponents.3 -
You need to read from left to right, not down ;-)swords_alive said:

currently
0% top 2
0% play offs
8% 7th-12th
62% 13th-21st
30% relegation
we need a lot of decent signings we are currently genuine guff9 -
A shame those pairs of fixtures weren't perhaps the other way round. The Peak District in September would be somewhat nicer than in January.AS1987 said:

Smethwick and Burslem I gather are quite nice in September.

I wonder if the West Ham fans will be sent on a detour round the Lee Valley Viaduct, while the Spanners are let out before them to go looting at Westfield.10

Is that a guess or do you know something?Ilovelondontown said:Good chance West Ham might get moved to Friday on sky1 -
It would be amazing if West Ham's first home game in the Championship wasn't on TV on Sky proper, even if it was against Cardiff or Blackburn. The Red Robin said:
