There’s also a World Cup this summer, and the season starts a week later so we’ve got more time. It’s still very early daysgolfaddick said:
We only knew what division we'd be in on May 25th last year. That was around 4 weeks later than this season.Rothko said:This is last summers business, with the exception of Carey, all the signings happened after July 1st

So if you are using that as a benchmark we are behind last season.
We've had all May & June this season4 -
If Connor MccGrandles can win League 1, then I feel like in the right setup Terry Taylor could easily be part of a similar puzzle.superdulvertonred said:Good signing for them sure he will do well there3 -

Ahadme
Olafe
Apter
A Mitchell
JRC
Burke
If we get to a leaner and fitter more appropriate squad, then we create the space for signings, or for players coming through.
I would also, at long last, like us to get the Gomez bonus. The top 3 have cost us a lot of dough and at present have not worked out, although Ahadme is probably finished at Charlton.Should we not be able to sell them I am guessing that they are costing us around 20k a week between them in wages. This will be a hit on the budget we have for bringing players in.0 -

Ah yes, the great idea of a team that struggles to create any chances selling their only player that creates chances from open play. Thankfully Nathan Jones isn’t that stupid and will be desperately trying to persuade TC to commit his future here, hopefully he manages tooblackpool72 said:

No need to get your nickers in a twist because someone has a different opinion. If he doesn’t sign a new contract then fair enough we will need to sell. Though £2m would be a poor deal if that’s the case
I doubt we would get anywhere near that.
So you would rather let a player go for nothing rather than receive some money. I hope you don't own a business.Would you have sold Aribo and Bauer at the start of the 2018/19 season too?
If we aren’t getting decent bids for Jones, TC and Ramsay then we might as well keep them because getting relegated will cost a lot more than those small bids. Not sure if he’s too old yet but we might even get some money for TC next summer anywayWhat has this got to do with the comment I replied to? Which was talking about the sale of one player, Campbell.
Football isn’t a normal business. There are plenty of examples where keeping the player is worth more than a small transfer fee. As I said if we can’t get a good fee then there is no point selling, we need to stay up and a small transfer fee isn’t going to help as much as TC is. If it was only £2m you aren’t replacing him with that
3 goals and 2 assists last season is not good enough. We can get better.
If you want to buy a player that does what Campbell does, and also has better end product, you’d need £10m. Andre Brooks (the player that started this conversation) is a similar player to Campbell, 6 goals and 2 assists last season and the same age and he’s just gone for that kind of money. Campbell actually starts over him for Jamaica
Campbell has incredibly rare physical attributes that teams will pay a lot of money for. He’d also be very difficult to replace, let alone upgrade on. If we keep developing him and he starts to return even slightly better numbers, he’s a £10m player if we have him on a decent contract. Fans wanting him to leave are very badly wrong. We need him on a new contract and £2m would be a very poor bit of business. We should be pushing the boat out hugely to keep him, because as that Brooks deal shows, he can be worth a lot of money if we can improve his numbers even slightlyIs this not what he is meant to do?Anyway, you are clearly a fan of him, fair enough.Only time will tell as to how his career moves forward with us.0 -
He'll be like a new signing for them.Covered_End_Lad said:Terry Taylor has signed for Stevenage5 -
Know what you are saying but, for instance, 400k for Karoy, 400k for Mitchell, small fees elsewhere just adds to the pot and goes towards inward fees or offering slightly better terms to a player we want to sign.Athletico Charlton said:Would prefer to keep Karoy and loan him for the season. We would get all his wages covered and give him a chance to really push on. He has the physical attributes and the desire to be the best he can be.
Feel selling him will get us maybe £3-400K at best and that won't make any impact on our budget if we are serious about staying up.3 -

I don’t think people understand how difficult it is to sign a player with that explosive pace and 1v1 ability. We need to add more of that to our squad already, if we lose TC as well then we’ve got even more work to do finding these types of players that are quite rare and usually quite priceyYTS1978 said:

Add in the fact TC has the fitness to run 12km a game at a high intensity, which is very important for a Jones team, there’s no chance we are finding another player that can do that and also have the pace/1v1 ability. I really don’t see us being able to buy a replacement that is better than TC or definitely not one that’s better suited to us, so we really need to keep him14 -
Yeah not sure how a holding mid that likes to get on the ball and play it fits a side that just launches it at Jamie Reid.Swisdom said:

LUCA MILLER - MIDFIELDER
A product of the Poppies’ academy, Luca made his debut for Kettering as a 17 year-old before racking up over 40 appearances and netting 7 goals for the Southern Premier Division Central side. With temporary spells on loan at Desborough Town and Harborough Town also under his belt, the midfielder makes the step up to National League North with the Turbines following his move in the summer of 2025.
Luca is most famously known for coming off the bench to score and assist in Kettering Town’s FA Cup First Round win at local rivals Northampton Town last season. A classy midfielder, Luca can play in a number of positions where he can dictate the play, bring others into the game and show a real eye for goal himself.

Though no way will our first signing of the summer be a non league player for the U21s, as the club know that they'll get slaughtered on social media by the usual suspectsMarcusH26 said:Sounds like a U21s punt which I don't mind at all. Plenty of talent at NLN/S level and below.

Agree totally, had to abandon that forum as the moderator acted massively unhinged and like Nathan Jones had been up to no good with his missus as he hated him so much. He was on a complete ego trip. Much better over here.Major said:
