    Quite a match ! 

    REALLY pleased for Grant S after a disappointing performance last time out there.

    Let's hope the lads can continue their winning ways v Surrey ( spit) and Middx when we'll be in attendance hopefully. 

    Were due to be there today & on Friday but the severe temps made our decusion for us , sadly.

    I clicked on  the BBC site and saw they were 51-0 after 5 overs so restricting them to 170ish was a big turn around. We then bat professionally and win. Great day!

    If we can win three of our final four games, against Worcs, Surrey, Hants and Middx, then we will, almost certainly, make the QFs even if that is as one of the two best-performing third placed sides.

    Kent 2s lost the first of two T20s against Hants today by 6 wickets. Perhaps of more significance and potentially great news, though, is that Muyeye is set to play in the second match.

    Away from Kent, I see that Henry Crocombe will join Surrey at the end of the season. Sussex in real financial trouble, making the signing of Jack Leaning on a 3 year deal all the more confusing.

    Crocombe gone , Hudson-Prentice off down to Hampshire this week and John Simpson to Warwickshire it seems for starters. Luckily Haines and Coles are contracted for next season at least but we'll barely see Coles. 

    We'll be playing a bunch of academy lads next season all because the board threw a 3 year deal at Leaning and a 3 year T20 only deal at Danny Briggs.

    Muyeye made 29 off 13 including two 4s and three 6s.

    Myself and others have mentioned his name before but, in addition to Ollie Butterfill, another player who might follow in the recent footsteps of Jaydn, Ekansh, Dawkins and Curtiss in securing a rookie contract could well be Leo Selvey-Clinton, son of Richard and grandson of Graeme. He's 17 today and has just hit 46 off 30 balls including six 4s and two 6s. He's averaging over 50 with the bat for Kent U18s and bowls a bit of off spin too.

    Surrey beat Essex last night but that doesn't really change things. I want to know what Darren Lehmann has been feeding the Northants boys. Apart from their Aussie recruits, Chris Lynn and Nathan McSweeney, they don't look exceptional on paper but are now 8/8.

    Oh absolutely we had the same with Gillespie at Sussex bringing Alex Carey and Rashid Khan from working with them with the Strikers. Useful for any coach to have that contacts book to call upon. 

    Don't think there's many bigger strikers of the ball in world cricket than a fit Chris Lynn.

    So, a couple of changes for the game at Worcestershire. Sadly, though, Muyeye is still not considered fit enough. Parkinson and Foreman have been left out of the 13 with Rogers and Ekansh added

    Assuming we do go in with a spinner in Lintott, I could see Benjamin (42 runs in 4 innings) being left out along with Klaassen (5 wickets at 52.00 with an E/R of 9.39) being rested. That would give us more bowling options and a slightly deeper tail too:

    Good afternoon Kent people. This is one of your Surrey correspondents here. (I didn't wipe my feet on the way in.)

    I am visiting Worcester this weekend so I shall be at New Road this evening cheering on the Rapids as they, one assumes, down the Spitfires and help ease the Surrey passage into the quarters. 

    I'll take some snaps of the idyllic New Road. Anyone venturing across for it?
