Dame Penelope Keith RIP

Actress Dame Penelope Keith, best known for her roles in classic British sitcoms The Good Life and To The Manor Born, has died at the age of 86.

A statement released on Monday on behalf of her family said: "We are deeply saddened to announce that Dame Penelope Keith died peacefully whilst living with cancer at her home in Surrey where she had lived for more than 50 years.

    The Good Life and To The Manor Born were staple diets of comedy back in the day and Dame Penelope Keith was a massive part of that.

    Real shame.
    Her well known roles should not disguise that she was a superb classical theatrical actress.
    Worked hard for an actors charity, adopted two boys.
    Clear national treasure who will be missed, but leave us with a rich treasure trove of memories.
    RIP Penelope you put more in than you took out and leave the world a better place.

    I had a PA called Margaret who called herself Margo & had a signed photo of Penelope Keith on her desk. 

    The Good Life xmas special is a classic.

    Margo was one of the great British situation comedy characters and was sublimely played by Penelope Keith.
