We will see a lot of them because we will need to get them fit so that other clubs want to sign them. I think Jones has a pretty clear idea of who he wants and doesn’t want, and I think both will be in the shop windowSword65pf said:Will be interesting to see how much we see Apter and Tanto pre season, wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of them, if they come back with an attitude to prove themselves they may give NJ things to think about, I think they both have good attributes. Neither did themselves any favours out on loan, many on here were quite happy about them signing🤷🏻♂️1 -

Would Koumetio count as a home-grown under the EFL rules or not? Given he was signed to Liverpool but loaned out a couple of times to Austria and France?0

No idea how accurate this is but this article suggests he would have counted for LiverpoolMarcusH26 said:Would Koumetio count as a home-grown under the EFL rules or not? Given he was signed to Liverpool but loaned out a couple of times to Austria and France?

Yes probably in the shop window as they say, bit disappointed about that though, but we can’t afford to wait for players we’ve paid good money for to turn up. In an ideal world we get better starters and give them time.NabySarr said:

He cost 1.5M so whatever happens with him we’re going to take a big lossMarcusH26 said:
I'm just wondering what kind of fee we'd ultimately recoup, was it £1m+ add-on's we originally paid? I don't know how many League 1 clubs would give us £500k for Tanto and hope they can get him firing.stjohnshill said:
A lot of League 1 clubs were in for Tanto in Jan. Naturally he went back to Stockport . Strangely the loan didn’t go to plan.MarcusH26 said:
Would be surprised if they found a taker for Olaofe. Think that's going to be the difficult one to shift along with Ahadme.stjohnshill said:Was mentioned to me earlier looks like one is incoming but couldn’t get a name so didn't post about it. Now looks like that player is Big Billy Koumetio. As for outgoings - club want to offload everyone who went out on loan on perm deals minus Mbick who the current plan is to loan out again. However, many L1 clubs will still be interested. A bad 6 months/wrong move is easily forgivable in football.0 -
I'll guess at Ahadme.msomerton said:
There is a striker I would like to see go, more than Kanu. But I doubt he will go.Dave Rudd said:
I don't think that Kanu would be a great loss. He's League 1 level at best, although 'fair play' to him for having a decent time at Walsall.Danny Addick said:
Guess you’re right. Just seems a shame to lose a striker scoring goals in professional football. But I understand the club’s stance if they do decide to. Like you say, depends who they end up buying and how well that money gets spent.Henry Irving said:Would be sorry to see Kanu leave, I think he's at least good enough for league 1 and has the raw materials and desire to improve on that but IF we are being ruthless and IF we include a sell on fee and IF IF IF we can invest in a championship ready striker then so be it.
His technique and physicality will limit how far he can go.
We need to aim higher.
And I agree with you.
We need to aim much, much higher.0 -

Be very careful.
The notion of identifying football people with names connected to forms of transport will lead you into dangerous areas.
Before you know it we'll have a list that includes Lorry Wilson, Leiven De Truck ... and even Geoff Hearse.
I hope we can avoid that.4 -
Do you think Campbell is being sold?NabySarr said:The only real doubt with Edwards would be if we lose TC. Would Edwards be enough attacking threat on the left hand side?0 -
Criminal that we spent a few quid on two players who were f***** off after 5 months.fenaddick said:The question with a player like Tanto is is it worth loaning him out in the hope he has a great season and improves his value? I can't see his value dropping much unless he has a truly torrid time so it might be worth the risk
I do not like criticising Jones but this was not good.4 -
We should have kept them as 5 months is crazy to offload a player after bringing them in on big dough.Sword65pf said:Will be interesting to see how much we see Apter and Tanto pre season, wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of them, if they come back with an attitude to prove themselves they may give NJ things to think about, I think they both have good attributes. It got rough, but when I got back it was too damn hot to do anything.
So this week is gardening week.Cut the hedges, cut the grass, sort the weeds growing in the cracks, trim some flowers, pressure wash the concrete bits, assemble the gazebo, put a table and chairs out.
Too right there’s a lot happening.
I don’t like gardening but I owe it to my neighbours to keep stuff in order.
On top of all that starting Friday I have another two week duty to feed local feral cat Harry.

On paper both looked like sensible buys. Unfortunately it hasn’t worked out for either and like you, I don’t think Jones believes either has it in them to suddenly step up and deliver this year.NabySarr said:

Personally I think Tanto is league one at best given his age. Apter may go on to develop, but we need proven quality now. Too much of a gamble to see if he can come back and make the step up after the poor season he had last year4 -

Both Tanto and Apter should have had more starts last season .. we never saw Tanto , Kelman partnership that 99% of fans believed should gave been given a run ..3 -

I think TC and Ramsay will maybe wait and see what we do this summer to see if we match their ambitions. I think it’s pretty likely both are sold though because they will both have plenty of interest from championship clubs that will probably pay them more than we willElfsborgAddick said:

Exactly. If they had both gone on to tear up their loans, we may have seen them back in with a shout.NabySarr said:

Both Tanto and Apter should have had more starts last season .. we never saw Tanto , Kelman partnership that 99% of fans believed should gave been given a run ..Both players may argue they never really got a proper run, but ultimately, neither have done themselves any favours and will likely be moved on. Frustrating that we spent decent fees on each, but that was our approach last season and it happens. Hopefully it’s sharpened the focus of the type of player we’re bringing in this summer6 -
Think there's more chance of keeping Ramsay than TC. Although I guess it depends on who we sign at RWB and how Sichenje develops now once he has a preseason with us.NabySarr said:

TC I can see us not being short of interest in , enough sides at this level that play with out and out width. Sheffield United to replace Andre Brooks and Stoke if Thomas goes would be 2 of the sides I would assume would target TC.1 -
