Tanto was a poor buy, Ahadme was an appallingly bad buy. Kelman ? lets wait & see if NJ gives him a run in the team but don't let NJ near signing another striker........PLEASECovered_End_Lad said:I would like to think Apter in particular will be given a chance in pre-season to prove himself, he won player of the month in his first month in the Championship playing out of position - he’s clearly got something about him.
Tanto is a strange one because he’s got all the pace and physicality for this league but his touch and finishing are not at the level needed.
2 -
End of season Kelman was showing signs of real improvement. Think he’ll be massive for us next year.20
-
Kelman just needs to play in a system that suits his style, too often early in the season we played him in a way that was never going to get the best out of him. That started to change later on and no surprise his form improved massively.15
-
Apter has absolutely no future here if he is still deemed to be a right wing back. Was a baffling signing for that position now having seen him play and for the money we should have just paid it all to small to stay. Apter just isn't physical enough for what we need at that level in that position. Maybe he can be used as rotation up top for when Campbell inevitably gets run into the ground2

There are Expected Assist statistics as well as Expected Goal onesOggy Red said:
Perhaps Thomas has more clinical strikers to create chances for, compared to TC at Charlton?Bostonaddick said:
Thomas averaged 10 assists a season over 3 previous seasons in the championship. His goals were lower as he was playing as a traditional winger rather than a wide forward like this year. He was widely considered one of the best wingers in the championship - his numbers were absolutely nothing like TCs. I think TC has potential but the comparison is not on pointMarcusH26 said:
Thomas's stats at this level before this season were incredibly similar to TCs last season actually. 3-4 goals a season type numbers and a 5 year age gap to TC.RonnieMoore said:
TC to replace Thomas ……. did you watch both of them play last season they are worlds apart …MarcusH26 said:
Think there's more chance of keeping Ramsay than TC. Although I guess it depends on who we sign at RWB and how Sichenje develops now once he has a preseason with us.NabySarr said:
I think TC and Ramsay will maybe wait and see what we do this summer to see if we match their ambitions. I think it’s pretty likely both are sold though because they will both have plenty of interest from championship clubs that will probably pay them more than we willElfsborgAddick said:
Do you think Campbell is being sold?NabySarr said:The only real doubt with Edwards would be if we lose TC. Would Edwards be enough attacking threat on the left hand side?
TC I can see us not being short of interest in , enough sides at this level that play with out and out width. Sheffield United to replace Andre Brooks and Stoke if Thomas goes would be 2 of the sides I would assume would target TC.
No reason why with the right management whether that's with us or elsewhere if he so decides why TC can't be an 8-10 goal winger at this level.
TC created plenty of chances last season, but few were converted.
He'll only be credited with an assist if the striker actually scores.
"Assists" ....the most misleading statistic in football.
Better perhaps to count goalscoring chances created?
From Fotmob
Thomas scored 10 goals from xG of 4.8, and provided 11 assists from xA of 9.8
TC scored scored 3 goals from xG of 5.3, and provided 2 assists from xA of 3.7
Thomas - 90 chances created, 20 big chances
TC - 38 chances created, 8 big chances

Not knocking TC, especially as he was playing in a stodgy team, but Thomas was way more effective than him last season. TC is important for us, but that's more down to the lack of other creative options, rather than because he created a lot.1 -
Has he got Harry Kane ?? Just need him to make the set. I've got plenty of Jordan Hendersons if Tanto wants them.Cafc451 said:Swap deal with tanto before fri?.2 -
Swap with who for Tanto? I can't see Stockport having any interest in having him back when they brought in Sidibeh0

Sidebeh will not be at Stockport next season. Championship at least.1

That lack of other creative options meant TC was double marked most of the season. Any stats on whether Thomas was also double marked? TC also played LWB a number of games, did Thomas?killerandflash said:

It will be interesting to see how TC does after a year of Championship experience and hopefully playing in a team with other options to distract defenders so it isn't solely on him. I think many will be pleasantly surprised.
Not saying he's perfect, he has a lot to learn and improve; but to me he has the natural ability and hard working mentality to do so.0 -
Trade Mitchell plus cash for Tolaj?2

What do you think?Cafc451 said:Swap deal with tanto before fri?.0 -
Galbraith going to Stoke for 10m.
How on earth do an average side like Stoke still have that kind of money to throw around?

Also surprised that Swansea are selling him so quickly.Callumcafc said:Galbraith going to Stoke for 10m.

Wishful thinking to hope this is a signing/contract announcement?

Ehhh I'm not convinced this will be a signing or a new contract extension.... Of course I'd love to be wrong1

The silence is deafening from the club...3

Contract extension seems most likely if it’s anything exciting. If it’s a signing then I hope Curbs and Garland are happy to come in 6/7 times in the next month or twoMarcusH26 said:Ehhh I'm not convinced this will be a signing or a new contract extension.... Of course I'd love to be wrong0 -

It’s just a bit of fun but so tone deaf from the club if it’s not a signingfenaddick said:Wishful thinking to hope this is a signing/contract announcement?

Just thinking they didn't tease the Godden extension like this so I don't really know what to expect.fenaddick said:
