Finally the penny drops on Charlton Life and on the TV.

This World Cup is like having PSG play in the Europa League.

As long as they're willing to buy into Jones' philosophy I wouldn't mind us signing some of these French attackers.
You know if we signed Olise some would hate him for being a Nigel
I’ve always said players should play for their country of birth, England would be much better off for example with Olise playing and Haaland and Kane rotating.
Not sure that your nephew would agree with you  --  although I’m losing hope that he's going to get noticed, lol

Klopp should be automatically ruled out of contention for the German job, for advertising the awful Budweiser.

Am almost a little bit gutted that Germany went out yesterday rather than by getting annihilated by France in next round

As the Duke of Wellington said, ‘Being born in a barn does not make you a horse ‘
Haaland is a Norwegian who just happened to be born in England. Moved back to Norway aged 3, and grew up there.

Olise is English. Born and grew up here.

Of course England have taken advantage of nationality rules in other sports, especially in cricket with the likes of Jofra, Bethell, KP, Trott etc

I think Morocco are the team of non natives aren’t they? Haven’t they deliberately employed people to research dna to find Moroccan heritage to be able to play?

Anyhoo, France will win and nearly half their population won’t even realise 😩😭

Utter nonsense, heritage and nationality are far more than where you happened to be born.

The crowd noise is phenomenal at Mexico game, even before the goal.

Ecuador currently crashing out the World Cup and it’s only been half hour. Big turnaround needed.

Feel Ecuador are unlucky to be 2 down at half time. Could just as easily be a 1-1.

France are obviously very good but Senegal gave them problems in the opening game and since then they've played Iraq, Norway's B team and a Sweden side that conceded 5 to Holland.

So whilst they've looked very good going forward, they haven't exactly played against any tough defences yet.

Spain will beat France in that semi final.

Ecuador president gave the country a day off after the Germany win.
Not gonna happen after this game, they have had a lot of the ball yet have no idea how to create a chance, tbh it seems a bit suspect how poor their crossing has been, almost half hearted.
Mexico got the early goals and have sat back comfortably since.

First knockout game Mexico have won in 40 years since the they last played at home..

Let’s hope they continue failing to get past the round of 16, although I think we’ll have our work cut out

Another sending off for covering their mouth whilst saying something. Didn't even seem bothered about it. An arsenal player apparently.

    Ecuador going home..

I am not sure why we are so focused on France.  We are not getting past the winner of Mexico/ecuador anyway

I am not sure we are getting that far.
  • Well even if we do the Azteca is very high altitude and I can see some of our lads blowing out of their arses by the first hydration break.

Thank you. However that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

A much shorter turnaround to the next game. Mexico have the big advantage of having a longer gap AND not having to travel

They certainly look good against the opposition they’ve played.

Thought they struggled first half against Senegal though.

Agreed. Senegal arguably the only half decent team they’ve played and it was quite close.

Norway’s side without all their superstars caused them defensive issues too.

I think it’s fair to say that France are by far the best attacking team in this tournament. Whether they are going all the way depends on how that defence holds up against a decent attack.

I don't think the 14 hours difference between their game and ours will matter that much, neither will the travel as we're based in Kansas and flying to all our games anyway so the players will be used to it.

I'm far more worried about the altitude and 85k Mexicans.
