Who will play right back? Will Tuchel call on Djed Spence again? Or will he shuffle Ezri Konsa out there and bring in Stones at centre back?

England 2-0 DR Congo. It will be the least entertaining game of the round but a clinical, professional performance.

Really worried about this game their set up we all know wont suit us as we struggle to break teams down. Hopefully we can get an early goal as that will force them to try to play.

Can see another grind out but don't see us losing. Think getting Saka up to speed will be crucial and hope he starts / plays at least 60 mins then the next round is when our campaign ignites !!!

The Athletic reporting that Spence will play at RB, with Rice back in midfield and Madueke and Rashford on the wings

    Saka clearly isn’t fit .

Hasn’t been at his best so far, probably due to the amount he’s played recently, but Rice back in makes us a better side.

Spence/Madueke is the weak side. Madueke needs to play with more intent and Spence needs to be aggressive going forward.

If we play too safe this will go to ET at least.

Madueke needs to improve. I quite like the bloke from an interview i heard, similar to Gordon but both needs to do more.
Be nice if he could use his pace more and try to beat a man.

Why? If we make it to the latter stages of the competition and he was fit and at home it would be so stupid. The mistake is not having the 26th man be winger

I just asked Alexa 'which channel is the England match on?'
She said 'England against Congo doctor is on BBC 1'

Had plenty to choose from but he felt Henderson was the right man for the squad..

Tournament proper starts here. No game will be easy, BUT, I reckon this will be as 'easy' as it gets
England need to speed it up, pass and move, find space, have the confidence to shoot on sight .. as ever.. WE WILL SEE

But hes clearly not fit, so its a waste of a spot. Might aswell have had Palmer or Foden in the squad.

Henderson was probably the 18th man not 26th

Bit concerning that Tuchel is saying that he didn't expect to see DR Congo adopt the formation they appear to be showing... Says they normally play 3-5-2, but seem to have adopted a similar setup to the one Ghana employed against us... Christ I wonder why!!

Chelsea have been managing Palmer's minutes for the majority of the second half of the season so would probably have been the same issue.

If the BBC want to stick with Rooney waffling on they really should put subtitles on the screen.
