    My Arsenal supporting friends view of Madueke is that he has some skill but very little end product. They were amazed he was being selected to start for England.

    Tuchel wasted the friendlies and warm ups with too.much experimentation rather than finding a settled side and then picked a squad seemingly based on character rather than ability.  We need game changers and too many are sat at home.

    If it’s deliberate by Tuchel, then he needs to change it, but Madueke showing zero defensive responsibility. 

    I hoped Madueke might show up better in the way England were, supposedly, going to play but it was hope, not expectation. As it is, he’s been the most baffling selection of all. Im sure he wasn’t supposed to be relied on this much and Saka has been less available than expected, but him being a bit shite is hardly a surprise because there was very little in his season with Arsenal to suggest he’d be any different. 

    England have mostly got over the “select them because they play for a big club” mentality, but no way Madueke gets selected if he’s playing for Brighton or someone.
