    Thank. Fuck. For.  That.

Very unconvincing from England. Kane to the rescue.

Will need to be much much better to beat Mexico at the Azteca, but into the next round is the main thing.

Gonna have to do a lot better in front of 100000 mental Mexicans on Monday…
Mexico will attack us. It will suit us compared to these niggly teams like Ghana, Panama, DR Congo. Reckon we will see the England we saw against Croatia from here on.

Controversial opinion - with how disinterested we were for 75% of this game I don't even think we will notice the Mexico home crowd

DRC limited but well organised. We made heavy weather of it.

    Mexico won't fear England...

Finally we got a world class player that can turn a game on its head.
We have two. But they can’t keep doing it every game. Others, including the manager, need to step up.
I’d say Gordon stepped up tonight
Yeh that’s fair. Has to start next game.

DR Congo attacked us in the first 20 mins and showed our defence for what it is, poor.

Looks like the only thing that's "coming home" will be the England team next week...🤦‍♂️

Problem is both our left wingers look better off the bench than starting

Well we got the result, but fuck me that was iffy for a long time, Tuchel HAS to learn from this and really quickly, Mexico will come at us, might suit us if we can sort the defence out.

First world cup knockout game we've come from behind to win since the '66 final
I’m sure we were losing against Cameroon and came back to win 3-2 in 1990. Or am I misremembering?

Be nice if Cabo Verde give Argentina a similar headache

Arsenal Triangle on the right side for the final 15 were good.  Clearly know how to play together.

Anderson his usual self once the changes were made. Hope we can learn something from that.

Kane has no doubt saved Tuchel’s job there.

Funny how a result can change your mood. There was no chance I would have wanted to watch Belgium v Senegal later had we lost, now I'm looking forward to it 😂

Stat probably meaning without extra time I'd suspect

Pleased for Gordon to have an impact with two assists. Rashford has been more involved that Gordon managed in the first two games, but wants the point of being involved if you just waste every opening you get with a bad pass, wayward shot, or dribbling down a blind alley?

Really hope they can somehow squeeze enough juice out of whatever is left in Saka’s lemon. If not, they must figure out an alternative to Madueke as he’s looked barely Championship quality and has been a huge weak link producing nothing in attack and exposing the right back defensively, regardless of who has played there.

It was games in which we've conceded first when the BBC came up with the stat so Cameroon wouldn't count anyway. Also they said any game, not just knockout. No idea how true it is

I’m hoping this is the trigger to believe we are good enough, but Mexico at 8k above sea level seems a step too far

Been said already, but three reasons we needed to win that.

    1. stay in the world cup
    2. avoid one of the biggest upsets of all time
    3. keep the Scots crying.

given its unlikely we’ll win it, I think 2 and 3 were the most important.

Due to my lack of appreciation of the Royal Family, I sing the anthem with the words 'God Save Harry Kane.' I invite all England fans to do likewise. You know it makes sense.
  • Thank God for Saint Harry. Him, Bellingham and Rice are the only class we've got.
Reminded me of the Cameroon match in 90. Take our luck and move on to Mexico.....
