CW Bases Ltd has applied to Greenwich Council for a premises licence at the former Stone Foundries site off Woolwich Road that would host concerts, films and sporting events such as boxing and wrestling matches.

"add extra trains after events at a huge cost”

Have Southeastern forgotten that people pay money to use their trains? If the station is at the capacity that it needs to run extra trains, then surely those trains will be full/make money. Surely if they don't run the extra trains then most people will be on the bus/lime bike/walk to North Greenwich or Woolwich anyway. If you look at somewhere like Drumsheds, its got a 15,000 capacity and a pretty similar sized station nearby (Meridian Water). Greater Anglia run extra trains and the venue puts on a shuttle bus.

    "Neighbours complaining about extra noise"

There are about 30 houses on Anchor and Hope Lane, which are about 300m away from the proposed venue. Otherwise this is in the middle of a massive industrial estate. If you can't put a music venue/events venue here, then where can you put it?

My Grandad worked at Stones for 50 years, including throughout the war.

The kids Christmas parties there were fantastic.

Ridiculous arguments from the Met, Council and the train company.  Murky Depths is spot on and the Hayatt Lounge have a bloody cheek complaining about anyone else operating a venue.

Get the new venue sponsored by Lime Bikes and get visitors to make use of the cycle superhighway Greenwich Council have just spent millions & months/years building 😉
