Hope Fullah either gets good game time with us or a decent top half league one loan this season. Going to be a proper player2

Hope he kicks Ahadme in training (only joking GasRonnieMoore said:Patrick Bauer Joined Cambridge

blimey Redmond is 32 - thats nothing nowadays. He has played hundreds of games in the Prem, and only a couple of years ago had a very successful loan in Turkey. Could do a lot worse.
Can he play as the advanced RWB as a back up?0 -
To much high ball second half .. not as good as the first half performance, TC should have scored …. But when you look at the list of players missing Doc Edwards Godden Kaminski Mbick Kanu Dixon Collins Bell …. Shows how many players we got and the need to trim the squad to get better quality in .. once again the service to the front men was poor and that’s something like NJ has said has to be brought in ..

Not sure we need him to, we played 4 at the back both halves.DamoNorthStand said:blimey Redmond is 32 - thats nothing nowadays. He has played hundreds of games in the Prem, and only a couple of years ago had a very successful loan in Turkey. Could do a lot worse.

It's only preseason but it might be a shift in shape that indicates this "evolution" that Jones is on about2 -

Interesting.... 4-2-3-1? Maybe like the England formation?0 -
Aimless long balls into Kelman and TC in the second half, Redmond probably one of our brighter players. Impressed with the directness of Fullah and Mwamba in the first half.1

That was an abysmal watch.
I wasn't expecting my knack for running into the worst fans to start at a pre-season friendly in Dartford.
After the game, one of their lot seemed to think that locals had priority boarding and away fans had to wait at the bus stop until all Dartford fans had left the area. Queue him threatening to beat me up for having the audacity to already be on the bus before several other Dartford fans had even made it to the bus stop.
I told him to bring it on, at which point his mate piped up saying that he could do what he wanted as he had kids with him. Perhaps he should be setting a better example for his children, who were of course gobby as hell and weren't happy that I was speaking back to their father. Naturally, the guy was all mouth and went straight to the back of the bus instead of starting the fight that he wanted.
According to his kids, he was upset that Dartford had lost. However, I think we have more to be upset about than they do after that performance.6 -
anyone know who the trialist is?3

He didn't complete a game for Blackburn and after 2 appearances they never played him again. But now is the saviour for Charlton apparently. And yeah, he can play RWB just like Onel Hernandez can play LWB. 🙈DamoNorthStand said:blimey Redmond is 32 - thats nothing nowadays. I hope we’ve seen the end of TC playing anywhere but on the wing.charlton_hero said:Aimless long balls into Kelman and TC in the second half, Redmond probably one of our brighter players. Impressed with the directness of Fullah and Mwamba in the first half.0 -
My take after watching it.
It's going to be a long hard season.2 -
Just a fairly important point. Alex Mitchell wore the 4 shirt in the second half.
He had a good game with some important tackles. Same with Keenan Gough.
Apter covered a lot of ground in the first half and was covering back as well as getting forward.
None of the named subs warmed up let alone got on the pitch.5 -
That was Burke, Alex Mitchell presumably wasn’t involved because he’ll be sold.Crusty54 said:Just a fairly important point. Alex Mitchell wore the 4 shirt in the second half.

How could you get a fairly important point so wrong?Crusty54 said:Just a fairly important point. Alex Mitchell wore the 4 shirt in the second half.

Bit of confusion last night that resulted in my putting up a Match Thread before realising @fenaddick had a pre-season thread already started, which resulted in two in Match Threads running at the same time, which was a bit confusing at times no doubt.
So will leave the pre-season to the original thread if that's ok and see you all for the League stuff in August.
Apologies...

For those of us at the ground there were clearly several errors on shirt numbers. Alex Mitchell was a named sub. His shirt number last season was 4 and several of the players were wearing their's.bolloxbolder said:

Several of the Charlton supporters beside me confirmed my comment.
After all Dan Kanu scored the goal according to the Dartford announcer and the Charlton team sheet.5 -
All pretty underwhelming, including the two new guys.
But it was basically a run out to deal with cobwebs.
My two initial thoughts were that Burke surprised me in a kind of positive way, and as I have written before I wouldn’t loan out Fullah, but keep him around the place as a starter or perennial sub, padded out with U21 games if he needs minutes.
Fullah is one of the few players we have who can unlock doors.1 -
I’m not sure he is the saviour or the answer but coming into a club mid season and not match fit is different to joining one at the beginning of pre seasonDDOUBLEE said:

On the Burke or Mitchell point, Burke put a photo on Instagram wearing the new kit at Dartford…
