You have a link to the official site. How often do you check the video section of it?jose said:
I suppose the number of people who don’t have xitter but do have links to the official site.fenaddick said:
I’m sure there will be lots on YouTube too and as said above it’s not purely on Twitter either. I would imagine it is too much of a faff for too little reward to upload a 45 second clip to the website. How many people do you think are visiting the video section of the website multiple times a day just in case a video gets posted?jose said:Going to be a frustrating week for me if all the news is on Musk’s xitter.
It feels like rather a shame that Charlton’s communication channel is seemingly enriching the man that makes Fascist salutes in public.
Is the Charlton media set up paid by Musk to use his platform, and not communicate in any other way like the official website many of us are paid subscribers of?
Is this kind of thing a massive ‘faff’?
Doesn’t modern technology make things easier.1 -
I know, it’s ridiculous that the club haven’t chosen the medium of communication most convenient for you and your politics.jose said:

Last season they had daily updates and training sessions when at training camp on the OS, I remember the cycle rides too and from the sessions, now will they be the same this year, or is it "easier" to post it all on X...just makes no sense sometimes...0

They were longer videos at the end of the day in a form of recap, I’m sure they’ll be backeastterrace6168 said:Last season they had daily updates and training sessions when at training camp on the OS, I remember the cycle rides too and from the sessions, now will they be the same this year, or is it "easier" to post it all on X...just makes no sense sometimes...0 -

Doesn’t modern technology make things easier.I think that's a little unfair: it seems legitimate to query why the club has posted the video to third party platforms and not its own. There may well be good reasons, but I'd have thought the aim would be to make content available to as many people as possible in a way they find easiest to access. What are the barriers to or disadvantages of posting content that appears on X or Instagram to the club's own platforms, or alternative platforms like Bluesky? Is it really that much of a faff for a professional media team? Is it to do with tailoring content to different audiences?I don't know the answers to those questions, but it would be interesting to hear from people who could explain, which is what jose seems to be asking, rhetorical flourishes aside .2 -

It’s not at all ridiculous that the club has chosen a medium of communication that is convenient for them.
I simply feel it is a shame they choose to alienate some elements of their support.1 -

I imagine the club will put up a end of day training recap on the website every day. But it doesn't make sense for them to post up a 30 second video on the main website, it's not designed for short form content like that7

Shame they have to post stuff purely to X. Not signing up to that thank you.4

It’s on all the other social media pages too if you’re on any of themLargeAddick said:Shame they have to post stuff purely to X. Not signing up to that thank you.1 -

Footballers on push bikes always reminds me of Kevin Keegan stacking it on a gravel athletics track on Superstars9

We hear this every year - “it’s not about the result and performance”.king addick said:The result and performance yesterday weren't important.
It was all about fitness and getting minutes back into the legs.
Would probably think performance will matter from AFC Wimbledon onwards.
Of course it is - if it wasn’t they could be played behind closed doors and save everyone the cost and hassle. The second you advertise it as a fixture and charge people to watch it, it becomes about the result and the performance.Jones’s first comments were about the result and the performance (and no injuries), so that’s what it’s about.2 -
I think they’re not behind closed doors as people complain (as we’ve seen with previous Slovenia trips) otherwiseSporadicAddick said:

I'd imagine the Commercial team would influence or even direct which social media is used? Wouldn't it all be about views, clicks and showing sponsors and commercial partners how frequently/widely their logos etc. are seen?fenaddick said:

I've no idea really about this stuff, just a thought that popped into my head reading your comments and a lot of the previous social media ones on the thread.
Personally I'd rather receive it all on my fax machine
