Bellingham and Kane are World class players. World class is beyond decent, it is the best of the best.

Amazingly I've managed to escape all social media since waking up 15 minutes ago and I've just hit play on the recording. If everyone can hold off on commenting for a while it would be appreciated.

What a performance and result, especially given all the circumstances against us.
Hopefully it is still OK to be a proud Englishman. Because I am.
    Cheers all!

    Very worried about Quansah starting.
This was the most recent comment in the thread for me, before opening now.

    Wasn't wrong!

What a game that was last night - stressful, but what a game.

Bellingham and Kane both absolutely world class.

Bellingham is the first player to score twice at the Azteca in a World Cup match since Maradona in 1986.
And didn’t need to use his hand for one of them.

Bellingham is like Bryan Robson, with a bit of Gazza and the pace of a winger.  Such a talent.
Best player in the world. Don’t care.

Nor did Maradona unless you are talking about the two he scored against England in the game before that

FFS that's an early yellow for Rice - Not the start we wanted.
I went too hard, too early and am watching on catch up.

Brazil have just missed a penalty. Gonna be a long day

The problems of high altitude. Harry Kane spent nearly the whole game playing on a high pitch, then the rest of the evening talking in one.

Henderson, I saw no reason for him to be there jumping over the barriers. Hes added nothing to the squad and now can't play at all. Injurys himself celebrating a goal he played absolutely no part in. His last act of being an England player was bloody stupidity. Total waste of a shirt, shouldn't have been included in the squad.
Great effort from the players who did take part. Hopefully The Don will have a word with FIFA and get another red card rescinded, although I think VAR got it right.

Oddly I think the quansa sending off might have been a small blessing in disguise. Konsa and guehi were really struggling with those crosses coming into the box
Stones coming on was a masterstroke and really shored that back line up.

  • Was going to stay up for 1.00am kick off but the extra hour delay sent me to bed.

Just watched the rerun on Iplayer without knowing the score.

Wow! Quite simply one of the greatest matches I have ever seen!

    Come on England!

Yes... Because with England squads when they go away to Tournaments its not about whether you play, its also about the whole togetherness of the squad, which is what pissed everyone off when Ben White decided he didn't want to be part of the team in Qatar and flew home in a strop - There's a chance that Henderson won't play a game, but like others (Madueke / Rashford / James) who didn't play, he can still do his part for morale, rather than sitting on the bench watching on like a statue

Are you right? No one will really know.

Tuchel in his press conference after the squad was released spoke at great length about picking a squad of players for all situations. He emphasised that he had not just picked the best individuals, but a group of players to be able to thrive and achieve in tournament football.

I reckon just enjoy the fact we have probably just witnessed one of the best England wins of all time, instead of being worried about why Henderson made the squad.

First half I commented that Konsa looked out of his depth but fair play to him, was a hugely improved second half. I'd rather see him at right back now with Stones in the middle.

I watched the replay this morning and I take back everything I said about Tuchel. After that performance I genuinely believe we're going all the way to the final. This team has found another level and more importantly they've discovered that fighting spirit and belief. It's starting to feel like something special.

Is it just me but did Quansah's boot end up higher than intended due to the ball under his leg plus the forward motion of the tackle?, purely accidental?
Also, King Kane will be forever remembered for that post match interview, feckin hilarious ....
Well done to them all, a real battle and watching from behind the sofa after the red.

There was no intent from Quansah but still an easy red.

What a night, I feel like I’ve been on a stag do and I only stayed in and watched it!

A real stand up and be counted performance
