A top league one side is probably the right level for him at this stage of his careerAberystwythAddick said:https://x.com/xtraleicester/status/2075554954710839509?s=46&t=33ikxRKjqn4pNEPW-1jbqgJust to add Leicester are looking at chambers7 -
Dobbo is one player I would welcome back...if he became available, and perhaps more relevant, if he wanted to return here...🤔3

Maybe an unpopular opinion on here but he wasn’t that good in the air and had the technical ability of a League One player.
Worked hard in fairness but did not want him back.22 -
To be honest, once Godden resigned I didn't think Dykes would stay. If they both signed then I wouldn't have expected us to sign another striker which would have been disastrous personally.Laddick01 said:

You think you’ve got a chance of being signed?DDOUBLEE said:

Agreed. He did a good job for us and exceeded my (albeit very low) expectations but I don’t want him going forward and feel it wouldn’t be a positive step in our progression.Laddick01 said:

I can’t believe Wrexham will let Dobson go but there’s no way a championship club isn’t offering him a deal. He would walk into pretty much any bottom half Championship teams.1 -
He did exactly what we needed him to do at the time. Ideally the style evolves somewhat and a pure "big lump with elbows" type striker can be upgraded to a proper playmaker second striker in the Kemorgant/Deon Burton mould.Laddick01 said:

Really didn’t want Dykes, but he changed my opinion, he did absolutely fine for us and worked his socks off, appreciate his effort hope to get better, but don’t see for one minute why he would get any negative vibes from us. Good luck to him wherever he ends up, until he plays against us.17

Did a job (kind of) when he was here scored a couple of goals and now he’s gone. No shame he’s leaving. Resigning him would’ve made me doubt we were actually trying to progress our style.DDOUBLEE said:Lyndon Dykes spotted in the background of a Bristol City video.

God if you thought Dykes was a donkey you either haven’t been supporting us long or have a selective memory or just really dislike him.DennisBooth said:

I'll never forget seeing Paul Parker play for Fulham against us at Selhurst Park on the last match of the season. He was easily the best player on the pitch, we were promoted and Fulham were relegated.killerandflash said:
And signing the best players from teams just relegated is an obvious way for a lower team in the Championship to strengthen.blackpool72 said:
He's better than we currently have so if there's a possibility sign him we should be interested.DamoNorthStand said:Is this De Keersmaecker actually any good or has his stock been vastly inflated on this thread? Can't say I remember much about him last season.
He went on to Man utd and England via QPR. We missed out on a gem there, no idea why we didn't go for him.
I may be bias because he's my favourite Charlton player, but I would have had him every time over Parker.

I was immensely surprised to find myself liking Lyndon Dykes, but there's no denying he is a limited footballer by Championship standards. Worked extremely hard and kept us up, doing exactly what was asked of him, but he has never been prolific and money is probably better spent elsewhere if we want to progress from route one football and evolve the dimensions in which we can attack.
Of course, big, hard-working, aerially competent, prolific and technically competent is a "choose three of these five" type scenario for most teams, and gamble on developing one of them, and it's always expensive.6 -
No thanks . Unlike Coady, he didn’t improve us. Dykes did a good job. Hopefully we get a physical forward that can run the channels and make chances for themselves. Kelman and Godden are not the right profiles for this style. Leaburn grew and showed glimpses of be a proper no9 as last season went on.0

Dykes was fine and did help drag us across the line. One of those players where if he had signed for another year I could accept it, but equally I'm not bothered if he leaves either.2

Lydon Dykes lives up my road, spoken to him a few times and a really nice chap, very calm persona, expected more a madman because of how he looks and plays (his wife always looks bloody miserable though)
Because of the link and his impressive work-rate I rated more than I thought I would but signing him would leave us too heavy up top right now.
If we signed a new striker then it would need to be a clear upgrade. But we do need an upgrade as in Leaburn, Kelman and Godden we have a pretty average bunch2 -
