Would hope we are in attendance here. Kabore probably the name that stands out here that might be realistic and in a position we need
Kabore would be the stand out comfortably for me. Wouldn't be interested in any of the striker options there and we've got good cover at CB now so Alleyne wouldn't really fit in.

Surely if he goes anywhere it will be back to Hollywood FC

Probably. Unless they're going to be spending silly money again.

Wrexham may not want him back was apparently quite inconsistent and had split fans opinions very similar to Clarke with us. Although if Kabore is debatablely good enough for a top Champ club should have no problem fitting in here

I don’t think Parkinson fully trusted him defensively. Which should be less of an issue for us the way we play with lopsided wing backs so the RWB has more of an attacking role anyway

Divin Mubama was very highly rated at West Ham before rejecting a new contract and signing for City..

I’d imagine we couldn’t afford Dykes’s wage demands, that’s why he’s gone elsewhere. All these people saying we can do better, but with what money if we can’t afford Dykes.
Oh FFS are we skint again!!!, why didn’t someone say?
We obviously ain't skint as 2 of our owners are billionaires.
How much they are willing to spend is another matter

Best buy would be to try to re-Unite
The Valley back with the club.

From a business perspective there is zero justification for the owners to do so. Why spend 40M on something they can rent for probably around 1M a year which they’re guaranteed to have for the next 10-15 years. Oxford have basically sacrificed championship football and stability to build their new stadium it will be an issue in the future but if they are going to spend much rather it’s trying to keep us up

Absurd that a single club can comfortably put on a game like this. Talent hoarding needs to stop.
I think that we could field 22 senior players who are not starters?

Imo we are favourites to go down

I am increasingly concerned at the lack of transfer activity.

Even Jones hoped to have a couple more in by now.

Imo we are favourites to go down and we really need a good window. Fearing second season syndrome.
    “Lack of transfer Activity”
13 teams have made more signings than us.
exclude 3rd choice keepers that becomes 9.
exclude prev obligations that becomes 7.
14th for total money spent based on estimated prices.

So for a club with a bottom end championship budget and an already over inflated squad, I don’t see where we’re showing a lack of activity?

Our squad was considerably weaker than most in this division going into this window and needed a lot of work imo.

As the OP said, even NJ has publicly said he wanted two more by now, so he was disappointed by the lack of activity and that was 10 days ago or so.

Still a month away from the first game of the season too. Way too early for silly season to be starting

Literally every manager in the championship would say this, and probably has said something similar this summer

That’s not long …. Considering you ideally want them training with their team mates and getting fully match fit.

What's happened to that famous road in Wandsworth that used to post up the odd interesting rumour...😉🤔
It was pretty quiet last week with the trip away.

Hoping for some more updates this week. Especially on the player who had a medical the Thursday before the team went away.

I’ve been quoted on the other site saying I said it was Tutu who had a medical. I wish people actually would read what people say

It’s plenty of time. This is a relatively long pre-season compared to most previous seasons

Unless we sign a free agent, anyone we sign will have been doing pre-season training elsewhere

We could not even sign anyone next week, and then a player joining us the week after would still have 3 weeks training, 3 friendlies and 1 competitive game before the first league game of the season. It’s still early days

As has been said, other teams have done a very similar amount of business to us. The World Cup was always going to delay things this summer, and the league cup game being the first Saturday of the season gives us an extra week too before the first league game. It’s not panic time yet

If we went into our first game with the current squad, I’d agree that it’s a nightmare.

I highly doubt that’s the case. Hopefully things get moving this week

It’s concerning that we have so many first team squad players missing full pre-season due to injury: Doc, Godden, Edwards, Sichenje. Plus Mbick from the youth.

Our squad is big but we have a few passengers and also now some Academy players who will count in squad number as they are over age.

I’m sure a lot of work is going on behind the scenes regarding both outgoings and incomings.
