    Very sad. Was in lots of films I have really enjoyed.

    'The Dish' and 'Hunt for the Wilderpeople' are two standouts.

    Sam was a prominent and vocal opponent of the proposed open-cast gold mine in the Dunstan Mountains of central Otago and since his death donations have exploded from all over the world to the cause.

    Also, sales of his Two Paddocks wines from his vineyard have skyrocketed
